Hi new to the forum . I live in Vermont USA, love photagraphy, hate hunting, not a good thing for an american Vermonter, so I use a camera. I wish this country would pull its head out of its but as far as pat. laws, because if they would I would not be having this problem, enough venting.
I ordered your bluetooth head control, read the new goto heads had the shutter snap option, and now with the orion mount in hand I can tell you it is not their, so now it apears I have aproblem.
I love open source and that is why i went with your aproach and the merlin mount. some where I read of a different blue tooth device with focus and exposure control, would that be a possiblity for shutter control.
I'm sure their is a plaise that tells witch mount with what blue tooth just havent found it yet. Going back to reading to be sure I don't ask a really stupid question!

Here are descriptions in English:

But before you opt for that device which is quite expensive, and may not be compatible with your Canon 50D, show us a photo of your mount and its handcontroller because if it lacks the Snap connector for connection to a camera I suspect it is not a Merlin Go To unless its secondhand or very old stock.

Hi you are right it has the hole but no conector. The photo at orion showed the snap connector as does the manuel that came with the mount. Orion® TeleTrack AZ-G™ Altazimuth GoTo Mount #9481, bought it three days ago. I have read in several plaicess that electricly they are the same, the question is will the dungle run the shuter?

It sounds as if you have a 'bad' example, that escaped QA checks at the Chinese factory, sadly such issues are not unknown, my first Merlin arrived with no battery holders. I suggest you ask the retailer for a replacement which does have the Snap connector installed - and have them check it out before they ship it.
Were you unable to find the non-GoTo model?

A little about my self: this is the first forum I have ever tried to use so if my online ediquet is shaby just point me in the right direction.
I have a c5 spotting scope I use for a telephoto with a 50d canon I have the shutter release cable from an inferred release device, so trying to use this (orion goto Head) for pana and astro photos. Have the mount apart and wondering if any body has wired the shuter release function, and have it working with kolor blutooth dungle. the mount looks just like the photos in the post address below.

the little 2 pin connector on the main board is what I'm looking for(I hope) any positives on this? Any other imfo would be a plus .

I would of purchased the new CELESRON ALLVIEW MOUNT if they ever start selling it , still preorder while they figure the price.
Is that last statement a little to fresh to say aloud here?
