convert 2D into 3D

Hello

I have an equirectangular image of an Apse... now the client asked me about the possibility to print that image in 2D and then "warp" that print in a 3D rappresentation, something like a map of the World.
Panorama Applications don't seem to have such a projection. Any solution?

Thanks

If you print an equirectangular image and warp it around a sphere it IS 3D . . . (What is an Apse?) The problem is to warp it around perfectly . .

Re: convert 2D into 3D

Hi... you can create a PhiloSphere using a pano image but unfortunately not in apg.. you have to use PTGui and you can go here below to create a sphere.. You can fined an online calculation for the ball to pano image size.. we found a web site and then purchased a smooth ball, measured the diameter of it and then put that into the auto calculator online and it worked out the length of the pano so we printed it to that size.. It was almost perfect but still a lot of fiddling... Big ballons are better since you can use past to glue your image and and then put a bit more air in.. then smooth it out... but still lots of fiddling and you need two people.. or very helpful kiddies... smile

We created small PhiloSphere's with my students last year... very cool... we had lots of fun.... They looked very nice in a group....

Hope this helps...
