Panogear with Nikon D700, nikkor 14-14 mm

I want too make 360/180 panoramas. I normally use the 360 precision giga. I bought the Panogear for direct use in AutoPano Giga.
I put the Straight rail for vertical shoot. I found the Nodal Point. Can somebody help me with a preset script, who I can put in Papywizard.

Yes, if you can tell me the pattern of shots, pitch and yaw separations for each row, you use when shooting with the 360Precision Giga.

Which Nikon body are you using?

What focal length will you use? 14mm?

Re: Panogear with Nikon D700, nikkor 14-14 mm

14 mm, VFOV 104 - 73
Hfov 81 - 53
Dfov 114 - 84

6 shot every 60 at 0
3 shot every 120 at 70
3 shots every 120 at -70

Problem I think that the body con not be on 70 degrees at the Panogear.

What is the max. positive pitch (camera pointing up) that you can achieve without the camera body colliding with the Panogear/Merlin mount??

The vrwave lens database suggests the following pattern for 14mm rectilinear lens on a fullframe Nikon FX sensor:
http://www.vrwave.com/panoramic-lens-database/nikon/

Minimum (full-frame): N, 6 images every 60° at -30° pitch, 6 images every 60° at +30° pitch, Z

But you cannot get more than +70 pitch, so.......hmmmm.
..........

What pattern do you shoot on the manual pano head when using the shaved samyang 8mm fisheye?

Re: Panogear with Nikon D700, nikkor 14-14 mm

The VRwave mentioned the 14 mm. It must by enough than the -30° and 30°. It meens that two rows are enough for 360°. I can try. Strange that precision 360 advice what I mentioned.

I tried on the Panogear the preset with 70°, its seems that the base of the camera was blocked.

I dd not try the 8 mm.

Plus N(adir) and Z(enith)!

But you can't shoot a +90 Zenith.

I suggest you determine the max. positive pitch you can achieve on the Panogear mount with the D700 and 14-24mm lens then experiment on your manual pano head to see if you can find a pattern that will cover the zenith but not exceed that max. pitch value.
