Constant time

Hello,

I have trouble having a constant time between images in a timelapse using Papywizard/Merlin.
Sometimes the shutter time is longer than what entered in the settings (4-5s instead of 1.5s). I already disabled Windows Firewall and AVG Antivirus. It improved the timelapse but I still have these lags 3-4 times within a 260 images timelapse.
Does anyone encountered that kind of trouble and found a solution?

Many thanks for your help,
Best regards.

Olivier

Re: Constant time

If you can reproduce the problem, stop the shooting, and have a look in the log; there are timings, so we can see where the program is waiting (turn the level to trace).

I suppose you use a constant exposure time? cool

Re: Constant time

Yes, I do use constant exposure time (1.3s on camera) and a time value in the shutter configuration (1.5s) and a stabilization delay (0.5s). As I understood it, it is supposed to take a picture every 2s + moving time.
I use Promote Control as the trigger for the camera. Promote Control is connected to the Merlin head. Everything works fine, except sometime the time value in Papywizard is longer than the one entered in the settings (during the timelapse, you can see that the message related to the shutter stays longer before displaying the moving message - like if it was waiting for a signal before moving the head).

I will do a test with trace in log files... At the moment I have debug log files where you can see the time differences between shots...

Many thanks for your help, Frédéric and Klaus.

Re: Constant time

Hi again,

I did 5 series of 240 shots using trace as the logger level, with or without AVG Virus Scan, with or without Wifi enable and everything worked like a charm... ;-)
Pretty strange... I cannot recreate the issue I experienced the first time...
Will see on the long run.

Anyway, many thanks for your kind support...

Best regards,

Olivier
