Running a YouTube video in a Panotour Pro tour

I need to run a YouTube video in a Panotour file. Is there any technical note on this one?

Thanks

If you can download it and save it locally then you can use it like any other video in a krpano/Panotour tour.

But as far as I know there's no way to link and embed a video hosted on Youtube in a  krpano/Panotour tour.

I think you would be most likely to get a definitive answer from the krpano fourm:

http://krpano.com/forum/wbb/index.php?l=2

If you find out please report back here so we'll all know the score.

Re: Running a YouTube video in a Panotour Pro tour

I just talked to someone at Kolor and as of today, I cannot do it usons Panotour Pro. And yes, you are right KRPano forum is the best place to ask or find the infos.

Thanks for your reply

Do let us know if you find out from the krpano forum that it can be done by handcoding the XML.

Good luck.

Re: Running a YouTube video in a Panotour Pro tour

I don't pretend to know how they do it but it certainly can be done using the KR Pano technology. Here is an example of it here:
http://monsoon360.com/tours/tao_beach/tour.html

Click on the movie reel on the TV for an example.  From the back end of this system I have an area that I simply pick the hex color for the background and paste the you tube embed code (iframe). This also quite handy for displaying a webpage within the tour.

Any chance we could get that functionality here from Panotour Pro? I would much rather use Kolor than this competitor.

I can confirm - it is possible to put YouTube video with YouTube player into the krPano/kolor panotour projects/kolor autopano projects:

If anyone is interested then send me a PM or email me.

Re: Running a YouTube video in a Panotour Pro tour

Hi, just wondering, has anyone had any success in modifying the .xml to enable the embedding of YouTube videos?

No, as you can't put static URL to video stream hosted on YouTube to your XML file. It's dynamic that is why you have to handle it in dynamic way.

Hi...

The xml can be used for the call to trigger the hotspot.. Here are two examples of YouTube playing using two very different methods..
