Panotour Pro + KProtect

Hello everyone!

First of all sorry for my english!

I have being using the Panotour Pro this last months. I'm a 360 photographer, not a code programmer. But I'm always making researching through the forums to find solutions for my bugs.

Recently I had some strange behavior, and I didn't found anything similar with my problem here (If somebody posted, I'm sorry for posting again. I have some language barrier).

I'm using Panotour Pro to make my tours and export my tours to iDevices too. When I put all the files in my server it works fine, but when I use the KProtect from Krpano, it doesn't work (used Safari iPad emulator).

One of my 360 shows "FATAL ERROR: abc.xml - loading failed! (404). Another 360, exported the same way as the "abc" loads the image, but not the graphic stuffs and shows this message:

INFO: krpano JS 1.0.8.14 (build 2011-01-03)

Any idea? Are the Panotour generated files compatible with KProtect?

[Panotour Pro V1.5.1 64bits] Mac OS X 10.6.7, 2.8GHz Intel Core i7, 12 GB 1067 MHz DDR3

Thanks in advance!
Thomas

Re: Panotour Pro + KProtect

Welcome to the forum..

My understanding is as follows - no doubt one of the Kolor developers will correct me if I am mistaken.

The options exist when building/exporting output solely for display on Flash-enabled platforms to embed all content - this is essentially the same as the functionality offered by kprotect - see screenshot 1.

However you cannot embed the content when building/exporting 'mobile compatible' tours destined for display on both iDevices and Flash-enabled platforms - see screenshot 2.

When building 'mobile compatible' tours you should also use the generic HTML template because this creates an HTML file that invokes a script that determines whether to load the Flash or the HTML/javascript version of the tour depending on the value of the browser user-agent.

So to conclude - don't use kprotect on the files created by PTP when building 'mobile compatible' tours.
