Text and Field and Field Colors in PanoTour Pro

I have been using AutoPano Tour and wanted to upgrade to PanoTour Pro. However, after downloading the trial to my 17" MacBook Pro, I found it very difficult to work with all the grey text on grey backgrounds. When changing some fields, another grey box appears making it almost impossible to see the numbers on this high resolution laptop screen. The text is already small enough.

I stopped trying to use it after about 15 mins. Is there anyway to make it easier to read? Please help?

Please notice the "Delay" and "Margin" Fields in the examples below, and how difficult it is to see the numbers when changing values.

(And I am not interested in changing the screen resolution to a non-native res, so that is not an option)

If you are in an experimental mood then you could try editing the UI style sheet.

Enter Ctrl+u to open the UI style sheet editor.

Re: Text and Field and Field Colors in PanoTour Pro

Thanks, I recognize your name from another forum. I'm on a Mac, but Command "u" got me to that window. I've never been there before. I'll give it a try.

While I have your attention. I'm having trouble moving a hot spot "point," after I have done a few other things. Should I be able to go into editor and move a previously placed point, or do I have to delete it and start and link all over again?

It exists in APP/APG 2.5 too.

You may recall my complaints about how much harder I find it to work with the new 'black-n-grey look'?

Alexandre then provided access to the UI stylesheet editor - he also said they'd develop and offer an alternative 'old style UI' stylesheet, but that never happened.

I remember you telling us weeks ago about that... I played with it but I rather like the setup colour etc so I left it... but nice to know it was there...

Ctrl+u in Windows - I guess that's Cmd+u on Macs?

Re: Text and Field and Field Colors in PanoTour Pro

Maybe someone could edit this and make it more "eye friendly" and then give us the corrected code. smile

Or perhaps Kolor could do it for us. I am still debating which tour software to purchase and this is definitely a concern. I'm having enough trouble sorting out the various "quirks."

Re: Text and Field and Field Colors in PanoTour Pro

The Ctrl+U command is generally used by us to debug the UI colors/margin and others UI tricks. The modifications made cannot be save directly in the UI. However, this files can be edited by hand at your own risks (*.qss files in .../Application Data/.../Kolor/UI ).

We planned to make a second skin (lighter) in near future...

Re: Text and Field and Field Colors in PanoTour Pro

I have looked at ptp etc on a pc and it is a bit dark but on my Mac it looks great so please do not take that away... Most pro 3D software apps have the same skin colour... which makes the software look more professional...

Destiny, you must have an iMac or a larger monitor. Try it on a newer MacBook Pro with a 1680 x 1050 res on a 17" screen.

Do you color-manage your Mac? Was the PC color-managed?

Re: Text and Field and Field Colors in PanoTour Pro

I have custom calibrated my MacBook Pro, and the APG and PTP color scheme is a little easier to see with that setting than the other two default gamma calibrations. But I have to turn the brightness up all the way.

I haven't checked yet on my iMac - but I'm sure it will be a lot easier to see.
