Fully automatic NON-INTERACTIVE Tour

Mac 10.6.4. Sony Nex-5

Hello fellow tour guides,

I have been asked by a team of 'older' real estate agents to create a fully automatic tour: no steering no hotspots. I saw in our meeting that most of them were scared to even touch my laptop and have a go at my interactive PTP tour!! They want a tour that plays automatically from beginning to end. They want autorotation and they want the tour to automatically go to the next pano scene.hmm

Any ideas on how to do this? I am not a flash expert but i know that it will be able to be done in flash. or some other kind of movie program. any suggestions?

Thanks people

Re: Fully automatic NON-INTERACTIVE Tour

360panogallery does what you want but only for Flash panos created with Pano2VR.
http://ww2.360panotours.com/

Pano2VR and 360panogallery are relatively inexpensive, so maybe that's the simplest way to meet your clients' demands.

Alternatively I'm sure that it is possible to hand code something similar for krpano/PTP if you were willing and able to spend the time to figure out how to do it.

You are not the first to ask for something like this - an automatic tour feature - for PTP but so far Kolor has not exoressed any interest in such a development.

Hi,

Have look at Tourweaver : http://www.easypano.com/Virtual-tour-software.html

This was possible in 'old' versions, so I guess it's still possible to do it with latest versions.

You could choose ever what you want on time line. (Zoom, pan, tilt, wait, ....)

I used Arturo´s app: http://360impressions.de/Eller/EllerAuto.html with the help of Andrew and Arturo.

That's not true. This demand has a high priority, but it will be done after other features.

Thanks for your info

I have resorted to autorotation with a drop down menu. if viewers can't use a drop down menu then what are they doing on the internet?

Re: Fully automatic NON-INTERACTIVE Tour

wow, well done kolor, that would be a great enhancement... I was asked by a real estate agent if it was possible to put a monitor in their window where the VR Tour could run automatically... Soo cool to see that!

The drop-down combo box doesn't work on iDevices.

Don't know if that's important for you and your clients?

Hmmm. Just tried on an iphone. seems that the autorotation does not work on the iphone. it is blinking uncontrollably.

What's the point of providing a link directly to a SWF file - that won't work on any iDevice.

If you want to make a 'mobile compatible' tour work correctly on both Flash-capable systems and on Idevices then you must use the generic HTML template when exporting from PTP and access the tour via the HTML file which uses a javascript to load the appropriate version of the tour based on the browser user-agent.

Right - it works on iPhone and iPad.

Re: Fully automatic NON-INTERACTIVE Tour

Another way is - at least for Mac-users: in Quicktime 10 there is a recording funktio which records all what happens on the screen and makes a movie from it. This movie you can run aotomatically repeating.
But i suggest to use Arturo´s http://ww2.360panotours.com/ - it´s elegant.

Re: Fully automatic NON-INTERACTIVE Tour

Oops,

providing the swf file was actually a mistake. the tour is on this html page. This is the one that was blinking during autorotation on iphone.

Thanks for all the information and correction of my technical glitches.

Hi!

On iPad it flickers heavily. On my Mac it runs fine - but the navigation is irritating: no hotspots visible. So one suddenly jump to the next room incidentally.

Re: Fully automatic NON-INTERACTIVE Tour

so hard to get around everything. The client did not want visible buttons so i had to make them invisible! next time I will not allow this. I really need to buy a mobile device so i can check it myself.

I am in touch with arturo for a quote about the automated tour.

Thanks for all your help- i really appreciate it.

If you have the software you can easily make the automated tour yourself.

The 360panogallery software costs 20 Euros, and then you'll need Pano2VR to create compatible SWF files from your pano images:
http://gardengnomesoftware.com/pano2vr_license.php

But as far as I know automated tours created with this software won't run on iDevices.
