Hi,
Just started using Panotour Pro yesterday, really like it, so simple to use.
I've posted a first tour at
http://www.tours.mikemcfarlane.co.uk/dr … ridge.html
It should run on iPads too, but the video doesn't load on mine. Not sure if that is a limitation or something I have done wrong.
I would also have preferred the flyout menu on the right, but this causes a xml parser error on the iPad, known bug, and I don't feel totally comfortable editing xml directly at this stage, although I am sure that will come.
I would appreciate any and all feedback. Any suggestions for improvement or how to make it slicker.
I'm going to go and have a look through the gallery now and see what you folks have been up to.

Video and audio is not yet supported for iDevice versions of tours.

I don't like having autorotation but no button on the nav. bar to turn it on/off.
I find it a bit disorientating/confusing to have to wait so long - while audio/video is downloaded? - before the hotspots, thumbnail fly-out and nav. bar buttons are enabled for interaction.
The little planet intro doesn't work properly for me when viewing with Safari on Windows XP with user-agent set to Mobile Safari 4.1 - iPod Touch.

Why do you feel so? is it due to high memory requirements or some other reason/s

No - they´re boring and make no sense in my eyes. Nice gag - but after you saw one of them you know all of them.
Seeing 100 panos and 60 of them start with a little planet intro makes me crazy . .
But as i wrote: my very personal opinion. I like images and panos where aesthetics are the goal - not funny functions.
I also hate maps, plates and tons of icons in a pano . . which you first have to click away before you can even see anything of the picture.
Nobody nowadays is so unexperienced to use an interactive pano with the need to having giant maps of instrucions. A well made interactive pano explains itself - make a good image and a viewer gets curious and wants to explore the pano. He/she doesn´t need more of instructions than fullscreen and rotation-stop i mean.
That also is my very personal opinion - but it also reflects statements of our clients. They find maps and much icons in a pano "cheap looking" and "patronizing".
Viewers aren´t that stupid as many pano-makers seem to think . . .

Yes, after living with the little planet into for a few days it does get a little tiring. I see some relevance as it shows people a grand overview of the pano and that there are things to explore, but as you say, a well designed pano intrigues the viewer to explore for themselves.
I can see a lot of relevance for google maps in landscape tours, and for estate agents I can see how a map (plan) would be a sales tool, but useful advice none the less. KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid)
Food for thought in designing future tours.
