Tour takes too long to load

I am a newbie... As a test I have created a tour with a single spherical panorama (0.98 MB) but it takes forever to load. http://www.seandesign.net/fortlouis1/index.html

Is there a way to improve the loading time or to improve the way it looks while loading?

These are the project properties:
http://www.seandesign.net/fortlouis1/projectproperties.jpg

and the picture properties are:

Thanks for any suggestions.

Re: Tour takes too long to load

It seems to load quite quickly for me, here in the UK on a relatively slow 1.5Mbps max. on a very good day ADSL connection.

You would get something other than a black display if you were to drop the little planet intro I think, but....

Thanks for your response.

This is how it looks without the little planet: http://www.seandesign.net/fortlouis2/index.html ... it still starts with a black display

Re: Tour takes too long to load

Actually I was wondering if changing the Cube Face Size and the Cutting Size would improve the loading speed.

Are you choosing to 'Embed all data' in the Tour Build tab?

Re: Tour takes too long to load

No, I did not choose the 'Embed all data' nor the 'Embed xml files' options. Does embedding or not affect how fast the pano loads?

Re: Tour takes too long to load

Yes embed all data will make a larger file & the viewer will have to wait till all the content loads, thus slower viewing for the initial but rest of the hot spots & their linked pano will load faster (instantly)

Re: Tour takes too long to load

Thanks very much for your advice. Much appreciated.

I still don't get the intricacies of Cube Face Size and the Cutting Size settings - how they work ... Is there somewhere it is possible to access some info about this?

Re: Tour takes too long to load

I would not worry too much about these. Biggest speedgain you get from NOT embedding all data and NOT using jpg quality 12.

Great to see my flag in a warm place, over here it is cold http://hanskeesom.xs4all.nl/panoramas/R … plasWinter
