In the render panel I selected file format TIFF. Clicked Render.
The file appeared to render, going through the stages of anti-ghosting, blending, etc., The render queue showed the file had saved. However, I couldn't find the file on my computer. I tried again with the same mysterious results.
I finally noticed that I had not selected a Data choice in the exported data section of render settings.
If no data options are checked when the Render button is clicked, the command should be stopped with a warning beep and a message that no data format has been selected.
