During the rendering process, the only feedback from the progress bar is the movement along the length of the bar.
The bar progresses in small steps to about 2/3 of the distance, then sits still for a very long time while blending. Then in the last few seconds it comes to life and jumps to the end while writing and closing the files.
There is no feedback during the blending stage to tell you if the application is working or hung up.
The Mac Aqua interface offers a perfectly good progress bar that ripples while the software is processing. If the application hangs, the ripples stop rippling.
I would love to see you use the Mac Aqua progress bar instead of your non-animated bar.

This has been discussed already. We are concentrating on the code itself and the nice preview while rendering will come back later.
