Re: Smartblend crashes, situation sum up

danze_65. Can you contact me directly. Smartblend has to work on standard panorama without any issue.
If it never worked, there is something else totally unrelated to smartblend.

Re: Smartblend crashes, situation sum up

It has been a week since activity on this thread...... Where could one look for release of Smartblend 2? (and even better - sign up as a beta tester?)

Re: Smartblend crashes, situation sum up

Nowhere and it won't come very soon. "Last week of may", I'd add a huge "maybe" and it'll be a preview release. So don't hold your breath for at least a month,

Re: Smartblend crashes, situation sum up

Hi Gentleman,

Thanks for waiting. It's quite over. We'll build today a release candidate that will be send to the beta tester of the first 2.0.7 version.
We wait for feedback and most probably Monday or Tuesday, we'll put this version public.
We are pretty confident on the stability of this version. Smartblend has been improved in stability but also some other part that were also causing some crash. A lot of big panorama has been rendered without any crash on Mac platform ( which seems to be the one that were the most sensitive to some issue ... BTW : we found the reason ! )

So, beta testers will get an email from Kolor today.

Re: Smartblend crashes, situation sum up

I hope that version 2.0.7 smartblend will work well. Current version for me has never worked properly. I have Acer Extensa 5220:
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo T6400
framework - 3GB DDR2 800Mhz
HDD - 160GB
OS - Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit and 64bit

I can not make up to 8 images with a Nikon D70 in the 360 panorama

I intend to purchase Autopano Giga + KRPANO unlimited license but if smartblend version 2.0.7 will work properly, I hope so.

I can only wait for the new version.

PS. The decision to purchase must make to 20.05.2010 would be so cool if the new version will appear this time.

Greetings to Alexandre

I cannot imagine why you should have any problems stitching so few images with APG 2.0.7.

What lens are you using with your D70?

I stitched a huge pano of well over 120 x 6MP inmages from a D40 with spline 36 and Smartblend on a 32-bit Windows XP system, with the release version of 2.0.7 - although I couldn't do this with the beta.

Do you have the release version of 2.0.7?

Re: Smartblend crashes, situation sum up

I just installed 2.0.7 and APG not working smartblend. I installed the new Windows 7 Home Premium 32bit and 64bit. System without other software, so there is no conflict with other software.

I can not even make 12 photos 3000x2000px camera Nikon D70 lens Nikon 18-70

On my Acer Extensa 5220 laptop never acted APG I'm going to buy this software but have no idea why not working. Do you have any ideas?

Maybe there is some other software with similar functionality and ease of use, which works in automatic mode.

How much RAM and free disk space do you have on these computers?

Has anyone else been able to stitch them?

What are the permissions and owners of the temp files?

Re: Smartblend crashes, situation sum up

RAM is 3GB
35GB free space on drive C,
195mb free space on drive D,
2.0.7 APGs on the default settings,
APG 2.0.7 running as an administrator.

APG 2.0.7 works well on a much slower computer AspireONE netbook Acer (1.6 GHz Intel Atom, 1GB RAM, Win XP Home, 50GB of free space on drive C)

Acer Extensa + Win 7 HP 32bit = does not work properly in the APG 2.0.7 smartblend

Acer Extensa + Win 7 HP 32bit + updates from Windows Update = does not work properly in the APG 2.0.7 smartblend

Acer Extensa + Win 7 HP 32bit + updates from Windows Update, Microsoft Visual C + + 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) = does not work properly in the APG 2.0.7 smartblend

Acer Extensa + Win 7 HP 32bit + updates from Windows Update, Microsoft Visual C + + 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) + dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe = smartblend not working correctly in 2.0.7 APG

I'm broken I'm going to buy a Canon 7D + Samyang 8mm f/3.5 Aspherical IF MC Fish-Eye + APG + KR Pano 2.0.7 unlimited license + nodaļa Ninja 5, 360x180 panoramas to do and not work for me APG.

What to do?

Re: Smartblend crashes, situation sum up

APG2.0.7 works on the Acer netbook, so it's seems just a setting issue. Let's then concentrate on the laptop.
* What is the crash ? ( you need to describe more the : does not work properly )
* where is your temporary folder located ? What cache size do you have ?
(195mb free space on drive D => it's quite full ! )

Re: Smartblend crashes, situation sum up

Hi,

I also have problem with APPro 2.0.7.
I try to stitch 8 pictures (TIFF files). It OK when I take option 'no layer' (file = PSD) for the rendering but it crashes with option 'layer' (file = PSB).
It worked without problem with APPro 2.0.6.

The text of the crash is "Invalid bitmap".

My laptop is HP Pavilion DV7
CPU Intel Core I7 Q720 @1,60Ghz
RAM 4 Go
OS : windows 7 Professionnal 64 bits
HDD 450 Go and 178 Go free

Re: Smartblend crashes, situation sum up

My Settings APG 2.0.7 (default settings APG)

General Settings
The temporary folder C: \ Users \ Raphael \ AppData \ Local \ Temp \
32.0 GB of space free of 48.8 GB
Memory Used
Cache size 128mb
During rendering: Normal
Number of CPUs 2
GPU processing disable

Render Settings
Size 100%
Algorithms
Interpolating: bicubic
Blending: SMARTBLEND
Format: jpg 8bits
Layers: none
Maximum Quality 1911
72 DPI
Output folder: C: \ Users \ Raphael \ Desktop

I try to stitch 12 pictures (jpg), push the button "render image" and APG run.
rendering layer "Blended Layer" works well then at the very beginning, "smartblend" ERROR leap Report "BUG SPLAT" always send an error report and offering email oxygen02@o2.pl and then APG off.

I tried to reduce the cache size to 10mb and During rendering: LOW nothing that does not still does not work

When I select Blending: none; LINEAR; Multiband everything works fine and the image is ready. Only when SMARTBLEND program stops working.

Re: Smartblend crashes, situation sum up

I might have put it up here before but since I still have the problem:
I have two different computers
- Desktop, AMD 3GHz 4 Core, 8GB RAM, 2x320 + 1x500GB HDD, 80GB on TMP available, Windows 7 pro 64Bit
- Notebook, Intel Core2Duo 2,13GHz, 4GB RAM, 1x500GB HDD, 15GB free for TMP, Windows 7 home 64 Bit

strangely, on the Notebook, every single panoramic has rendered fine, so far, however, on the desktop, it fails every single time when starting smartblend. I have sent in many Bugsplats, they're always like this:

2010-08-05 16:15:01  Entered Unhandled Exception Filter

2010-08-05 16:15:02  Minidump file successfully saved

                          d:\tmp\AutopanoPro_x64FN456EM4.dmp

2010-08-05 16:15:02  Launching BsSndRpt.exe

                          "BsSndRpt64.exe" /i "d:\tmp\BsSndRpt.ini"

Multiband blending works ok, Smartblend fails, and only ever on the Desktop. Which is a pity, since it's overall much better equipped to render panoramics.

Re: Smartblend crashes, situation sum up

this problem does not puzzle me any more. But i use APG on Ubuntu from a usb-stick. It never chrashed on that, but Ubuntu from Harddrive chrashes often. I don't use windows anymore for APG, but, as i see it, a bootable APG would solve this.

If i could boot into APG ONLY from USB, use all the ram on the machine, and a part of the harddrive for temp or swap, i can imagine the possibility for Memoryfragmentation to be only caused by APG, and therefore easily avoided.

You could try it, make a Ubuntu on usb-stick with a precence option to install into. To me, it never chrashed even trying on two machines that chrashed when OS was on HD (using Windows XP, and Ubuntu 10.04 on 1 GB ram on both machines).
