AutoPano Pro makes it easy (thank you!), but it still takes a while!

(I originally thought this was a gigapixel image, but it isn't: I think I was confusing bytes with pixels)

Re: 1.1 Gigapixel panorama of Cape Town

It's impressive but how does 35,997 x 10,518 pixels amount to 1.1 Gigapixels?

Re: 1.1 Gigapixel panorama of Cape Town

I'm clearly wrong somewhere, in an obviously stupid way...

I get "Pixel dimensions : 1.06G" in the Image Size dialogue, and the dimensions as 35977 x 10518 pixels. The PSD file is 1.08GB. Am I just confusing bytes and pixels (each of which is 3 bytes)? Is my picture only 0.38 gigapixels?

Thanks for pointing this out before I embarrass myself further,

Brian

Yes, file size is related to but not decisive of image dimensions in pixels.
