WOW more than 150 Merliners !!!

I can't believe it:

Since today more than 150 Merliners are on the list. Thanks to all people here, which added their part to this big success, especially Frederic.

But the german sales rep of Skywatcher was not really interested to sell Merlins to panographers on the last Photokina.

Eh eh eh !

I think, it's the good moment to disclose that Kolor will distribute soon a complete package for Merlin head : the head, tripod, bluetooth merlin or tactile controller, wire cable, battery pack, metallic arm for head support : everything in a single package. We're waiting to get everything is stock to launch this bundle.
We'll also call to the community about a name for this head bundle.

Re: WOW more than 150 Merliners !!!

Good to see the community is thriving even if I did join the party pretty late smile Personally I would leave the name "Merlin" out of any new product title. It is the likes of Fma and Claude that made the key steps from taking the Merlin head from just another motorised astronomy head to a fully packaged product that works extremely well and is constantly being improved as the userbase finds new ideas for the system to exploit.

That´s one good idea! A turnkey-system so to speak . . . cool

Re: WOW more than 150 Merliners !!!

You can also call it a turn-head smile or head-turn, as it's gonna attract attention smile

cool

Besides: Joseph will hand over to me a prototype of his new motorized head in April/May as we talked today.
I told it before: stronger, faster than Merlin and with a much smaller footprint. Takes cameras with battery-grips attached and heavy ones like D3x or 1DsMkIII and Hasselblad H3D and some.

Will be controlled either by PapyWizard on Nokia/Notebooks or Josef´s "tactile controller" (nice word for it cool)
so there´s lots of ways to use it.

It´s more expensive than Merlin of course but will be far away from the price of a Rodeon. No numbers yet.

best, Klaus
