I have it set up and working, now thinking what to do with the crown. I guess I will try to find some local workshop and ask them to make a modified one for me.
I was a bit surprised that the Tronisoft Bluetooth/Serial adapter needed setting to different baud rate and flow control, but that's maybe because I reset it first. What might be useful for someone else is that it was possible to do it with the supplied software running under wine on Linux. (all my windows machines are without serial port) I wonder if it can be done thru Bluetooth interface, directly from Papywizard? It might help other users in future.
Fortunately I was able to use my ADIT M1 remote cable with D200, it needed just switching two wires and one link.
Once it is not so windy outside I will try to make some high resolution panorama.
One more question, do you know what's the voltage range to use for 12V input on Merlin? I am thinking about using 3-cell LiFe A123 I use in RC planes, hopefully its nominal voltage (9.9V) will be enough. What is the current draw?

The range is from 13,1 to 9,0 V, the current draw isn't enormous but we don't have an idea ...
With the set of 8x1,5V NiMh batteries, you can work several hours (gigapixels for instance)
now thinking what to do with the crown
For your D200 you will not need a new crown but you can "separate the vertical and horizontal part of the head", have a look hereafter:

P.S. The Tronisoft BT adaptor isn't recommanded anymore !
