Re: St. Lucia Sunsets

Thanks Taf!  I am new here and unsure of file and uploading requirements.  I am just finishing up stitching some larger photos of the same trip.  I will be uploading them soon.

Re: St. Lucia Sunsets

Here are the larger photos.  The first one was stitched from 20 photos, and the second and third were from 7 photos each.  All were handheld.

Re: St. Lucia Sunsets

jmbphotoworks,

I am very keen on angry/intense cloud photography. I really love the second from the top. The clouds are rich in "multi-dimensionality". The photo can't be improved ( . . . uuuuunless it was renderred in 3D? Hmmm. Has anyone done 3D panos yet? Is it even possible? I suppose a 3D pano would have to be synthetically created.)

Re: St. Lucia Sunsets

Taf and T,

Just had eye surgery and had to be off the computer for sometime.  I am back now, and wanted to thank you guys for the comments!

I had some thoughts on 3D pano's and what would happen with using the real3d camera from fujifilm?  http://www.fujifilm.com/products/3d/cam … x_real3dw1

Re: St. Lucia Sunsets

jmbphotoworks,

Thanks for the Fujifilm 3D info. Very interesting technology. Though, wondering how good the monitor could be, looks a little small, and generally speaking, monitors don't have the resolution of prints (yet). Still, would like to see it with my own eyes. Regarding the verticle 3d prism prints, again very cool. Something I would like to play around with.

Anyways, we should be seeing a lot more of cool stuff introduced in our lifetimes. Thanks for sharing.

I really like the third one in your first post, the one with the rocks in the foreground. Amazing scenery!
Best wishes, Thorsten.

Re: St. Lucia Sunsets

I was going through my files and found this folder of raw images from my trip that I never stitched because of too much movement in the trees and waves.  This is combined from 4 groups of 9 images.  I used Photoshop CS5's merge to HDR pro on each set, then used AutoPano to combine the 4 finished photos.  The wind was blowing really hard, and the waves were coming in really fast.  I notice some very slight stitching errors in both, but I am amazed by the job that Photoshop was able to do with ghosting.  Then I was equally amazed by how Autopano was able to stitch the unaligned results together!

Hope you enjoy!

Jeremy
