Peleng 8mm f3.5 for Canon (Samyang 8mm f3.5)

the Peleng 8mm f3.5 is available with a socalled "Focus Confirmation" feature (programmable AF confirmation chip -made by Victor Lushnikov) for Canon EOS:
http://www.peleng8.com/peleng-8mm-canon … ation.html
(Peleng 8mm Canon -> Peleng 8mm f3.5 for Canon with Focus Confirmation)

is this feature worth (the work needed to setup)?
Does anyone has some expirience with this lens?
for pano purposes: is it an advantage or disadvantage that it is a shaved version per default?
is an autofoucs for an 8mm not nonsense? (everything between 30cm and invinity will/should be sharp?)

Re: Peleng 8mm f3.5 for Canon (Samyang 8mm f3.5)

with the 8mm FE I can't see the need for focus confirmation UNLESS the camera or pano system requires it to move on to the next step. Personally I use the Samyang 8mm and basically everything is sharp unless you start shooting at very very close distances.

This example was a test and is a toy RC helicopter the nose is only 40mm from the front optic and the lens was focussed at 30cm (minimum distance) but I did stop down to f22 smile

If you are seeking a FE for your 400D I'd go for the Samyang over the Peleng anytime.
