We tried several tools to capture the screen while zooming in and out, and found only one application that managed to capture this "fast motion" scene : Screenflow (for Mac).

Rami,

Thanks for that info - it looks like a very impressive program. A pity it's Mac only.

Re: Paris 26 Gigapixels | A first video preview

Wow! Can you tell us what sort of postprocessing you did? What did you do at the RAW development stage, what did you do after that but before stitching, but did you do after stitching? For example how did you handle the high dynamic range and bringing out the shadows, how did you handle color adjustments?

Fraps is best for capturing fast action scenes, e.g. games. Should work well with this too.
In Linux showmydesktop does best of all the recorders I tested for that platform, but its not as good as fraps.

Don't know what's most boring - Gigapixel or HDR?

Where are the Parisiennes?

Re: Paris 26 Gigapixels | A first video preview

Look. There's a rhythmic ceremonial ritual coming up !

Re: Paris 26 Gigapixels | A first video preview

Are you busy adding hotspots for 360 panoramas and ambient sound captures to the Paris 26 Gigapixel panorama?  It would be great to hear people ordering lunch at a cafe, the metro, etc.

Have you thought about adding a guided tour where the viewer  would zoom in to interesting parts of the panorama?  Either for a moment, or until you press the next button.

I am excited to see what you have done as well as splendid graphical elements from Ma.

Also, 3 hours and 14 minutes seems so incredible.  Does that time include blending and rendering or just stitching?

Re: Paris 26 Gigapixels | A first video preview

There will be a music, and an automatic tour, of course.
Yes, the rendering speed is incredible : 3 h 14 minutes contains drag'n'drop of the .pano project file on the batch renderer, click render and wait until finish. It doesn't include the detection and edition of course.

You should describe the used hardware and the technical side of things on the blog, too!
