Re: [Papywizard v2] Tethered shooting and intelligent bracketing

Bonsoir,
voir :
http://www.nabble.com/why-so-long-time- … #a24437559

to have all 1/2 stops or 1/3 copy this and replace line 214 to 221

créer un document a sauver "cam.bat" a sauver sur C:\ avec ceci
____________________________________________________________________________
c:
start explorer.exe C:\Program Files\DIYPhotoBits.com Camera Control 4.0\Camera Control.hta
______________________________________________________________________________
dans le plug-in de Papy "Tethered" à la place de gphoto2.... entrer ce que vous voyez sur la copie d'écran

Re: [Papywizard v2] Tethered shooting and intelligent bracketing

Hi you guys,

After lots of tries, I still can't find a solution so that Papywizard can trigger my camera through Remote Capture Task (part of ZoomBrowser). I've set the shutter to "generic tethered" and get "failed" report at the first shot of the pano. Is there a way to correct the problem under generic tethered or does Papywizard need a specific plugin for Remote Capture Task?
Second question : most of the time, the mosaic appears off centered in Papywizard's shooting screen (either to low or to high) and part of it is consequently hidden. I havn't found a way to center it. Any clue for this weird behavior?

Re: [Papywizard v2] Tethered shooting and intelligent bracketing

Can you provide the log after the shooting failed (menu Help -> View Log..., save).

About the off-centered positions, it has been solved in the 2.1.12 release (the latest one is 2.1.13).

As for the off-centered position problem, you advise me to work with 2.1.12 o 2.1.13 but as far as I can remember, I stepped back to 2.1.11 because the arrow keys wouldn't operate in the last two versions. I'll check it again but I'm pretty sure of that.

Why do you think this might be at all possible?

What model of Canon camera are you using?

No - probably best to ask a specific question and we'll do our best to answer it.

The original goal of supporting tethered shooting with Papywizard was to be able to implement extended exposure bracketing - ie. a greater range of bracketing than typically offered by the AEB function of most cameras.

This has now been achieved using a variety of third party software tools - which work with a subset of available camera brands and models - which can be configured and invoked from within Papywizard using a number of software specific, and one generic, 'plug-ins', and some third-party configuration tools.

Sorry for my french answer!

You must change the path to the program to execute at each shot. By default, this plugin uses gphoto2...

I don't think it will work. AFAIK to work with the generic plug-in you need a program that will load from a command line, trigger the shutter, then close; with no further user invention. I don't think the software you are proposing to use will do that?

My equipment is listed hereafter.

Then the 'answer' for triggering the shutter of a Powershot Pro1, which is compatible with the Canon WL-DC100 IR remote, from the Merlin head is a GentLED-Jump IR device:
http://www.gentles.ltd.uk/gentled/options.htm#IRjump

I use one with my Nikon D40 and it works very well.

This is not really what I'm looking for. I work with a big (72 feet) heavy pneumatic mast and need to have total control (real time monitoring included) of the camera. Until now, my equipment was well adapted to that specific use for "regular" pictures : camera on a 3 axis motorised head connected to Lifebook P 1100 on top of the mast, and me in command on the ground with a 17' laptop through Wifi remote desktop (wire control of the pan/tilt/horizon head inside the mast). All that works fine and I want to keep it.
Now I want to add the Orion-Merlin/Papywizard when needed on top of the mast and use it the same way I use the "regular" head, i.e full camera remote control through Remote Capture Task and ZoomBrowser. That's why I really want Papywizard to "activate the release button" in Remote Capture Task.

Re: [Papywizard v2] Tethered shooting and intelligent bracketing

You don't change the path for each shot. You have to give the path of an external program (gphoto2 by default), which will trigger the camera through the USB port. Papywizard will call this program each time it needs to shoot, as it would have done with the Merlin contact if you have used the Merlin/Orion plugins for shutter.

The generic tethered plugin is not very smart, as it can't change the params of the external program, as DSLR Remote Pro plugin does (mainly for exposure bracketing). I don't know the program you are using, but if you give enough informations, I could write a plugin to control it.

Thanks a lot for the offer! I wanted to send you the install program for the soft but something told me that Canon Remote Capture Task could not be isolated from ZoomBrowser. I checked and it's the case. In fact, the Canon "Digital Camera Solution Disk" is made so that it's almost impossible not to install everything! Consequently, the best would be that I send you a copy of the CD+the latest updates. If it's OK with you, just mail me your adress.

It would probably be rather easier for Frederic to get your camera working in tethered mode with Papywizard and PSremote from Breeze Systems, as this seems to have a very similar mechanism for controlling the program from another app. as used with DSLRRemote Pro which is already supported for tethered shooting with Canon DSLRs:

Re: [Papywizard v2] Tethered shooting and intelligent bracketing

I agree: you should use Breeze PS Remote.

I won't have time to install your program, and I don't have the knowledge under Windows to make complex stuff like it has been done with EOS Utility (I don't think there is a simple solution to drive your program)... That's why I said 'if you give enough informations' wink
