You know that we are currently writing the documentation. It will cover all aspect of the software with illustrated text or video.
We are also writting a FAQ with questions about the software that doesn't fit exactly in the reference documentation.
For example : there are actually some questions already in it
(Those kind of questions are not really answered in a reference documentation, but rather in a FAQ) :
- RAW : should I develop myself or use autopano ?
- What should I do as a Pre/Post processing : DxO case ?
- What blender should I use ?
- What interpolator should I use ?
So, do you have questions for a FAQ (will might not already been answered in the reference documentation ) ?

Another thing: overlap and image links. What's the proper overlap, when should we edit the image links, what problems may occur from not good linkage... For example, using four images in a line with big overlap, is it better to have just:
1-2
2-3
3-4
Or, as it usually happens by default, keep those links too:
1-3
1-4
2-4
I've found out that most of the times (at least with the material I get), excess links lead to problems. Also, on several occasions I've shown this to users here with their images. But there has to be some explanation behind all this... and it may become a nice tutorial or case study or FAQ entry.

FAQ: What's the difference between the two (or more) tone mappers and when should I use them?

What is the format for command-line usage? I can't find that information anywhere even --help or /? doesn't seem to work.

How do you make APP run faster?
(sorry, this is kind of dumb, but many people will forget to do it)
Turn off the run-time part of the Antivirus (in Grisoft AVG, its called the Resident module), etc for the directories that APP uses-- the picture source and the temp directory.

This here too: http://forum.autopano.net/p5131-today-16-34-22#p5131
Posting a link so I won't forget about it.
The Mac-talk moved here: http://forum.autopano.net/t874-get-a-mac
Moved the comment from Telavian - this should be in the FAQ or documentation.

This info that Alexandre wrote in another thread should be in the documentation or FAQ:
if you have an edge that is just a little misplaced : open the links between related picture having this issue and create more point along this edge than everywhere else. It will force the solver to solve more the edge than other control points (let's say you put 100 on the edges and 50 are remaining. The edge will have a stronger influence than the rest 2 for 1).
Also, will a pair of images with 1000 points have 1000 times more influence on the pano than a pair with 1 point?

(I believe the FAQ is not the right location for this: a button or an option could be shown in the pano editor when spherical projection is used to help users who didn't stitch the nadir image or want not to show a 360° view or a 180° view for some reason, but want to use pano2QTVR or any another tool to prepare a .mov file.)
To produce an equirectangular stitched pano where width = height x 2 and where the horizon occupies the right location for pano2QTVR or any other QTVR format converter, you must use the "Crop" tool in the other way, that is: place the rectangle around the image, outsiside, far enough. APP will understand what you want and will extend the canvas up to the desired format (where height must be equal to width / 2).
The main point: the horizon will stay where you (or APP) placed it and this is the only decent method for that...
Any of 360° viewers I know can be instructed not to show the hole(s).
