A Panorama, a new way to look at the World

Hi friends,
I'm new to this forum. I have been reading all those interesting topics for a long time. Now I'm ready to post some of my panos. I like the panoramic fotos because they offer some kind of a new view on things.

My three examples show il Ponte vecchio di Firenze, and two Panos of San Galgano south of Siena. smile

I really like the perspective of the second one! What are the reflections of in the water under the bridge in the first?

Those reflections come from some of the shop windows of the old bridge.

Here I have 2 other panoramas. One is from San Galgano again and the other shows the "Hofburg" in Vienna.

The evening before the 3rd Autopano Meeting started some of us met at Heller's pub in Cologne. Jet another time Autopano showed that you can absolutely relay on it. The pano shown is stitched from 9 handheld shots.

Re: A Panorama, a new way to look at the World

Finally I found some time to post another panorama. It shows the Church of San Leolino near Panzano in Tuscany. I also experimented on a small virtual tour which acn be found here: http://www.spherorama.de/Leolino/

Photographics, I found some more time to further work with APT and I made a little tour of San Galgano. Hope you like it. http://www.spherorama.de/San-Galgano/

Re: A Panorama, a new way to look at the World

for the first pano, the bridge is a little too far. It would be better to take the pano with a medium zoom.

Look. There's a rhythmic ceremonial ritual coming up !

Re: A Panorama, a new way to look at the World

taf the bridge was shot in my pre APG era, with the panorama function of a small Nikon digital camera and stiched with the software provided by Nikon. But I think about a new series of Florence around Christmas this year. They banned all automobiles from the inner city, which gives you even better occasions to place the camera when no car is around.

I did also a nice panorama of the clouded sky some days ago just a little after sunset in Tuscany. It shows the upcoming cold and wet November days. It was shot with a 30-70 mm 1:2,8 Nikon zoom on a D700 and is rendered from 13 single shots.

Re: A Panorama, a new way to look at the World

I played a little with my panorama from vienna, just trying to get the KrPano xml sorted out. http://www.spherorama.de/Wien/

Some very nice panos, I especially like the clouds. Best of all your video intro to the Wien VT, I would love to know how it's done or maybe get a copy for my desktop.

Re: A Panorama, a new way to look at the World

Paul the panorama from Vienna was stitched with APP and then I processed it with KrPano tools to do the zoom in effect starting with the little planet view. To have thew picture on your desktop you can do a screenshot. When the pano has fully loaded you can try different views of the pano yourself. Just "right click" in the center of the browser and the option menu of the KrPano player opens. You now can select the different projection modes.
I just add a screenshot with the initial view of the Vienna panorama.

Re: A Panorama, a new way to look at the World

Yeah, I agree with DrSlony, the second from the top is my fav. Because it has fore-ground AND background elements, It has "multi-dimensionality". I find these type of panoramas much more interesting than typical far-away pano views of mountains or buildings.

Thanks for sharing,

excuse me, I meant, a copy of the file that would run on my desktop like a movie. I don't think I'm ready for KrPano yet.

Re: A Panorama, a new way to look at the World

Actually I'm in Lima and have already made some panoramas. As I have access to a computer over here I brought autopano with me on a USB Stick. The program runs pretty good from the USB Stick. But I have to register the program every time I reuse it. But that is no problem.

Below I have a few raw renderings. The rest of the work will be done once I returned home.

All Panoramas were shot handheld with my small equipment handheld (Nikon Coolpix S6)

Very cool panoramas with your Coolpix!  I agree with you completely. Panoramas give us a new and REFRESHING view of life.  I really love to do panoramas.  Like you I have been just reading a long time but soon I will begin to post. I loved your panos done  here (South America)

Re: A Panorama, a new way to look at the World

Hi Thomasz, I still have a few days over here in Peru. Every day I could take 5-10 new panoramas, but it is also interesting only to walk around and just look at all those impressive things over here. When I returned home I'll finetune all my panoramas as I did only a quick rendering with APP. Interestingly the average RMS of those handheld panoramas didn't go above 4.5.
