Two comments:

1. It looks as if you have the projection type set to automatic with version 2? So it's choosing a planar projection rather than the spherical projection you used with 1.4.2.

2. If you would like to put those test images on-line soemwhere I'd be happy to downlaod them and explore why v2 seems to be having problems stitching them

OK - can you put the images on-line? I'd like to see what's going on.

V2 has a more 'sensitive' control point detection system - it tends to find more matches (and hence sometimes spurious matches) than 1.4.2.

I expect you have some spurious links that would be easy to edit.

If you are not confident about control point editing then this video tutorial will help:
http://www.autopano.net/wiki-en/action/ … _panoramas

Perhaps you coulkd post a screenshot from 1.4.2 and v2.x showing the links? Like the screenshot below.

Re: Toujours pas convaincu

Voila encore des tests.
Même paramètres, mais différents logiciels pour derawtiser

1 : dpp
2 : autopano
3 : dxo
4 : lightroom

Do me a favour and post a screenshot showing the links, and/or upload those test images to the Web so I can download them?

I had no problems at all stitching your images with APG 2.0.1 on my Windows XP32 with GPU setup.

What version of APG are you using on what OS?

Re: Toujours pas convaincu

Have you try with different settings in autopano ?

Only clic Optimisation to speed, the first setting.

OS : Vista 64

Try quality of detection (low standard and high ) and Optimization ( Quick Strong Gigapixel )
With low and quick the result is bad.

If i try with 1.4.2 and with different settings the result is always very very good.

Re: Toujours pas convaincu

I used Standard and Strong which are the appropriate settings for this sort of image set and scene.

Had that not worked well I would have tried High for detection.

Why try other settings which are not appropriate for this sort of image set and scene and expect a good result?  When stitching panos I am trying to get a good result not conducting an exhaustive study to explore ways (and there are many) of getting a bad result!

APP/APG v2.x works differently 'under the hood' from APP 1.4.2 although the controls are superficially quite similar.

You gave the impression that whatever settings you used you could not get a good result, yet I can get an excellent result easily with APP/APG v2.x so I don't understand your complaining about how it differs from APP 1.4.2.

They behave differently - something I too found a little disorientating initially - but accept it and go with the flow.

IMO APP/APG v2.x is better in many ways. Having used the GPU assisted realtime editor for a while now I wonder how I ever lived without it. The Papywizard Import filter is pretty good. Fisheye image handling is better too.

Yes, APP/APG v2.x still has a few rough edges but I have no desire to go back to APP 1.4.2.

Re: Toujours pas convaincu

You probably right, but with the default settings I have systematically better results the first time with version 1.4.2

I would like to have a similar result before i buy version 2.

Of course you can set the defaults to match your typical style of pano shooting...

But I guess you knew that.

Responding to requests from many users, Kolor decided to offer the user more control over the stitching process in v2.x - I like that, but that seems not to be what you wanted?

As they say - you can please some people some of time but you can't please everyone all of the time. hmm

A good decision IMO. I don't think you will regret it.

I'm sure it can only improve.

These are early days for v2.x. I believe it will just get better and better.

And you can post your requests for future features here:
http://www.autopano.net/forum/f5-the-future

Kolor will be reviewing user requests and planning the development schedule over the next few weeks - so now is the time to get your requests in.
