Is the Bluetooth hardware for your Mac a standard built-in device or a USB external device.
You seem to be the first to get BT working on a Mac so it will help others to know more.

Yes I am using the Bluetooth from Telskop as my BlueSmirf broke.
It is the bluetooth card in the Mac.
Well it is not bluetooth per say, MacOs connect to the Bluetooth and then Papywizard connects to that through serial driver.

I don't have the Merlin here so that's why I get error below

In fact, you don't need the Merlin; just go in the 'Hardware > Plugins...' menu, select the 'Drivers' tab, and click on the bluetooth 'Choose...' button. If you see an error, please report the message (you need to open the log windows, as the message shown in the error dialog box is not correct). If you can scan all your bluetooth devices arround (cellphoen, laptop...), it means that it works.

Hmm I just installed the papywizard from jeremyp, Somethings seems to be off.
There is no hardware tab in configure and simulation mode is not possible and more things are strange. See screenshot.
EDIT: aah sorry I can see things have been moved around now, will report very soon if bluetooth works.

All right so..
When I go to choose in bluetooth Papywizard locks up completely. I don't know How I can get you a log file for that as is locks up completely.
When I tried to manually enter a bluetooth address and then connect I got an error and here is the log... Bare in mind that This bluetooth address is my other Mac so that might be the reason for it not to work. I can try with Merlin tomorrow.

Ok, so it seems that the bluetooth module is correclty loaded (Yes, it is normal that you can't connect)

But I don't understand why it freezes with the Choose button... Did you way long enough? It takes some time to search for BT devices arround (~10s). BTW, once you killed the app, you can read the log, as they are stored in your /tmp dir... Is there any interesting informations, there, after freezing?
It seems that the find_devices() function of the bluetooth module does not work very well (at least, it does not see any device for Jeremy, and seems to freeze for you). But anyway, it is possible to manually enter the address, and it should work.
If someone else could confirm...

je viens de tester , la connexion Mac vers Merlin fonctionne
lorsque je connecte Papywizard à la Merlin , il affiche que des plugin ( les 3 ) ne se connecte pas , je ressaye et ça marche , Papywizard est connecté à la Merlin
je teste un déplacement par exemple à droite de la Merlin , la commande s'exécute, la merlin tourne bien à droite mais ne s'arrête pas il faut que je mette la merlin sur off pour l'arrêter .
mais je viens de retester , ça a marché un peu lorsque je commande le déplacement , mais ensuite c'est reparti en continu .
j'ai l'impression que c'est une sorte de rebond , comme si le clique souris sur la flèche de déplacement entraîne une boucle comme si le clique de la souris était maintenu en continu . D'ailleurs lorsque j'ai coupé la merlin , j'ai vu les click se faire encore alors que l'avais lâché la souris , un peu comme un magnéto qui répète des actions !!!!!

Tout ça en bluetooth? Il manque le reste des logs, là, non ? Es-tu bien passé en mode debug ?
Sinon, concernant les symptômes, cela veux dire que la communication merdoie : si la Merlin ne reçoit pas l'ordre d'arrêt (ou ne le comprend pas), elle continue. Et le GUI est un peu dans les choux (mon code a besoin d'un peu plus de robustesse à ce niveau, j'avoue).
Pour résumer, il semble que la communication bluetooth soit un peu ératique...

Hi Frederic,
i now got the last version for OS X (the download was about 30 minutes after all).
When trying to connect via the known "serial/bluetooth" way i can connect to the head as before.
When i try to connect via bluetooth from Papywizard directly the application hangs when trying to select a BT connection. I can not select "Cancel" or "Select" nor select the bar where the available bluetooth devices should be shown.
Here is what i got from the console after + 1 minute (there are hundreds of equal entries within the time i waited):

Yes: PW does work with a connection via "serial" and something like "/dev/tty.PapyMerlin-DevB-1" i the serial setting tab.
Yes: i use the internal bluetooth from my MacBook.
Yes: i have no problems with a BT connection to my Merlin via the above connection.
Yes: i only rum under OS X - no paralles or equal.
No: i can not get a connection with the BT integrated in PW - PW hangs when trying to connect.

This BT module runs fine under this OS X with the "serial"-setting. Just the PW bluetooth setting does not work :-(

I was talking about the python bluetooth module, lightblue. It is not the same under windows/linux...
About the log, once the app. has crashed, send me le log in /tmp/papywizard.log (without restarting Papywizard)...

So what's the problem?
Does it matter whether you configure the BT wireless connection as a virtual serial connection - as I understand it that works OK so what are you worrying about?

True - FWIW I only ever got a functional wireless BT connection from the T23 under Windows 2000 using a USB BT device when configured as a virtual serial port.
Sadly at present Papywizard 2.1.8 does not run on Windows 2000 at all! So I can use no version more recent than 2.1.6 on my old Thinkpad T23 laptop.

Excactly - that is what i wanted to help with. The virtual port is a bit "handmade" and as PW crashes when trying to select a BT device it should be worked on...

It is a perfectly viable/proper form of BT connection. BT supports many profiles.

Yes, i know. But it is not "Plug&Play" as a normal Mac-User is used to :-)
He has to go to the BT-Systemsetting, add the BT module to the list, copy the /dev/-path and insert that in PW manually. That is what i ment with "handmade".
It would be easier to just select the BT-module within PW...
