I tried my two most difficult gigapans first off.  GPU = ATI Radeon 2400 series with 256 Mbytes graphics RAM.
The `Iolani Palace still needs some tweaking, but the Cyanea asarifolia test tube rack, with a few frames moved a bit, looks good.  The root hairs are <1 mm long.
The `Iolani Palace is one of my "Gigapans from Hell" series that continues to confound the stitchers I have tried (GigaPan, APG2, MS-ICE).  The Cyanea asarifolia crashed and burned during the detection phase with APG-RC2, but worked well with the first full release.  Both panoramas took less than 10 minutes to preview.
