Distortion of image

Ok, I'm completely new to this, so if these questions are easily answerable I apologize.  I did a 12 shot panorama at a pro football game, brought it into APP and then into a SWF builder (Pano2VR), once it is there I have a convex distortion towards the center of the screen. (See the image below for more info).  What I'm trying to figure out, is if there is something I need to be doing in APP to fix this issue, or if the issue is in Pano2VR.

Any feedback would help.  If you see something that could use fixing or have pointers that would be greatly appreciated as well.

Re: Distortion of image

That URL doesn't resolve to an image.

You can embed images in your posts - edit your original image and you'll see how to do it.

I don't understand your question, having seen the image it looks much as I would expect.

What camera and lens did you use, what is the pano FOV as reported by AutopanoPro?

Here's some stuff about projections:

Re: Distortion of image

OK - I see it is not an equirectangular image - not a full 360x180 with a 2:1 aspect ratio.

Use the Crop tool in the APP Panorma Editor to expand it to 360x180 then render again and process with Pano2VR again and it should be OK - you can set viewing limits oin pano2VR to prevent viewers seeing the 'missing' bits.

I think that may resolve the issue.

Re: Distortion of image

I think you may also confuse the distortion caused by the equirectangular projection ( which is normal ) with the distortion of lenses ( which is hardware related and corrected by autopano ).

Re: Distortion of image

This always happen when one put what is before him and what is behind him in a sigle image. You will not find any image where the view angle is 360 degrees and where all straight lines are straight.

As Mediavet said you must use a viewer which shows only are restricted part of the view and hence can display straight lines as straight.

Re: Distortion of image

The vertical lines should be straight, the horizontal ones will curve as shown in your pano.  After a while, you get used to seeing the curves and know when they are about right.
