krpano in linux

I would like to switch to krpano so that I can make virtual panoramas with automated miniplanet -> normal view intros. Some questions:
1- I haven't been paying attention to this subject much, but I thought I read that APP2 users will have some sort of limited krpano license... What advantages will a full krpano license have over our APP2 krpano one?
2- Will I be able to make automated intro panos in Linux? I saw that the downloads section on the krpano website only had Windows and Mac.
3- Will I be able to make virtual tours in Linux?
4- What do I do if I want to sell a virtual tour or single pano to a client, do I give him a copy of my license file, or has this "problem" been resolved by embedding it into the swf?

Re: krpano in linux

hi, drslony!

there is a new tool: krprotect (still in developement, building standalone doesnt work at the moment)
with this tool you can protect your files: integrate the licence file, allow to work on one defined domain only, forbid to run it locally... i think that fits your needs...

Re: krpano in linux

Paul: wow I'm blind! I must have glanced over that smallprint thinking it was a description, and I didn't see Linux in the divs below :] So it seems that I've got lots of reading to do today.

machart: looks fantastic, I am especially impressed by "The Baldachin - panini, crop", he didn't say how many degrees but it looks like around 180° and things look straight. Older panini versions compiled on my system but wouldn't run, I'll try the new version soon.

The Panini projection in krpano is the most psychedelic projection I've seen yet, if you click on "1.00" and on "view.stereoscopic" to set it to "false".
It actually gives the illusion of the scene being 3D, at least the indoors scene, since it didn't work so well on the other outside panos.

A full krpano license will enables some features in Apt as multiresolution panorama or xml export. The xml export enables to code all KRPano features that are not interfaced into APT.

Some have already responded. wink

APT will exist under linux.

It will be possible to add domain limitation into exported flash (with or without full krpano license).
