I thought this was interesting with the guys walking along the top of the crane arm while they were setting it up.  Three vertical shots with the D200 handheld.

Hi All

HDR Pano tonight with two frames of five shots each, -2 to +2 stops.  Had to shoot ISO800 to get it so it is a little softer than I prefer also the evening was pretty windy, unexpectedly.  Same building as before, but from the eastern side.

Beware! not every camera + panohead + lens combination can do that and this depends whether you want the NPP being exactly where it should or accept to move the camera forward (or more exactly upward when pointing toward zenith) or not.

BTW it seems that the crane was quite distant from the camera so that a tripod without a panohead could be enough ( you can't use a panohead without a tripod but can use a tripod without a panohead with non negligible benefits and this include inexpensive light tripods as well.)

Out to night for the moon rise, but didn't find a spot I liked.  Grabbed this anyway, HDR and pano.  Alos a bit of Ps because I was too lazy on the HDR part.

This one and "suburbia in monochrome" have a very mellow feel to them, I like it. A little verticals would help with this one!

I like what I've seen of Australia so far.

ps. This got me thinking, is there anything you'd like to see of Poland? I don't mean any famous landmarks, just anything particular in my city? [google maps] [wikipedia]

I have been working very hard for the last eight weeks or so and have not had the time for a lot of panos, but I did get to Kalgoorlie for Easter.  Here is one of the pubs, called "The Federal".  Built in 1899 it is one of the "old" buildings in town.

Seeing Kevin started the whole mine pano thing, here is the "Super Pit" at Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.  It is between 300 and 400 metres deep and getting bigger.

While it does not compare to the IOCG deposits of Chile for pit size, it is a bit more profitable.  Peak gold, here we come!

I think you should take more upper rows for your first panos. You'll have a better view especially in upper side. I always see my final panorama in mind before shotting.
