* Calling all Nokia N800 and N810 Tablet users. *
Frederic needs more Nokia N800/N810 Tablet users to test with the latest development version of Papywizard - 1.5.6-1:

I find it doesn't load and run on my Nokia N800 which is running the latest update of the OS2008 operating system and, at the moment, we cannot figure out why this is. 1.5.6-1 runs OK on the Nokia 770 Tablet, and Frederic has also tested it on Linux and Windows and it also runs OK on those platforms.
So it would be very helpful if other N800/N810 users could try 1.5.6-1 too and report their experiences here.
Don't worry about trying 1.5.6-1 - if it doesn't work you can always easily uninstall it from the Application Manager and re-install 1.5.4-1 which works fine:

Hi Andrew, hi Frédéric!
I loaded PW via my N800. Information says "0,0MB" (!!??)
Proceeding it updated the pevious version nevertheless.
Appl. manager says PAPYWIZARD 1.5.6.1 and 1,7MB.
Starting PW flashes a white screen - that´s all.
Loaded the 1.5.4.1 version again - works ok.

Thanks - that's just what 1.5.6-1 does on my N800.
Can you check in the Settings/Control Panel/About product on your N800 and report the Version data of the OS2008 on your Tablet (mine is 5.2008.43-7).

Basically the same behaviour as before, and the log looks the same to me at first glance. 
Is it worth asking Klaus to test that version too - in case there's something different between out N800s even if they report using the same version of OS2008?
Is it worth my re-flashing and starting over?

No, I don't think reflashing will change anything...

They are different.
For 770:

Yes, Klaus do try it again - during the testing and debugging process Frederic has posted several variations under the same filename - it is only the most recently posted version of 1.5.6-1 that worked for me.
The URL for this version is:

Not the same as the URL for downlaoding from the link on the Wiki.

I am using 1.5.6-1 from the Wiki on 770:
1. Fullscreen function is not working.
2. Head speed change is not working.
3. Menu/File causes program to crash.
I am using your most recent 'special' version of 1.5.6-1 on the N800:
1. Fullscreen function is not working.
2. Head speed change is not working.
3. License and Credits buttons not working.

I have now installed latest 'special' dev 1.5.6-1 on 770 - strange to go back to the 770 I'd forgotten how much more generally sluggish a 770 is compared to an N800.:
1. Got Logger window on first run after install, but ran OK after re-boot.
2. Menu/File causes program to crash.
3. Licence and Credits buttons ARE functional (weren't on N800).
4. I can open Shoot dialogue and it works.

Yes, I have reinstalled it and can confirm that version xx-crash does not run on N800.
