Imported images contain black bars.

Photos that I import into APP come into the program with thin black bars along the edge of the long sides of the image, as if they were letterboxed. They are straight from the camera and do not contain these bars when I open them in Photoshop, but APP factors the bars into the auto leveling and I end up with panoramas that are nearly black, no matter what the original exposure is. This is a recent occurance, and I have reset everything back to default settings with no effect.

Re: Imported images contain black bars.

Please look at this thread:

http://www.autopano.net/forum/t4337-str … -panoramas

In general terms, it would also help if you could post the equipment used to take the images you write about. If the camera comes with exchangeable lenses then the camera (body) lens combination is best.

Re: Imported images contain black bars.

Sorry for not posting specifics. I am using images shot with a Nikon D2H and a 17-55mm lens. The problem occurs with images that are horizontal or vertical. Auto rotate is enabled on the camera, but I have rendered panoramas before without a problem.

Re: Imported images contain black bars.

I am sure it would help if you posted some images, from APP, that illustrate the problem you have. The images can, of course, be created using screen-dumps/'PrtSc' perhaps cropped in your image processor.

If you scroll down, when posting, you will see below 'Image Upload' (and limitations on image size are documented there).

Note: I had to learn, the hard way, that images will appear not in the order you add them into your post but in alphabetic sort order. The way I get round that is to start the first image name with '1', the second with '2', and so on.

Also please document the version of APP you are using, e.g. 1.4.2 and your operating system, e.g. Win XP SP3.
