Re: Fisheye support

My guess is that IPIX patent is only for full pano made up of 2 fisheyes only. The new RealViz Stitcher will work with fisheyes too, but only with at least 3 shots.

Not really.  If you read the patents (and there are several), together they make WIDE claims.  It's isn't simply about "2" fisheye images or "3" fisheye images being used to construction a panorama.  It isn't even specifically about fisheye lenses!!

No longer:

So please do not delay fisheye support any longer. I already bought Autopano Pro in february because of this promised functionality, and it is hard to swallow that I still cannot use this program.

I still think that Autopano Pro has great potential. But at this moment, PTGui is better in just every single aspect. You have my support Alexandre, do your best!

Re: Fisheye support

I don't sure that bancruptcy will closes all questions about patents.

1. Bancruptcy need more time to completes. But we can't wait smile

2. I think that IPIX will sell all it's goods. Patents too sad

3. 1 Patent was taken away from IPIX to another man some years ago (I don't remember name, can find if you want) and he continue war with software developers and panorama makers.

Re: Fisheye support

Did you get the cameras without software? That would be rather unusual. If you did get the software, did it suddenly stop working?

Re: Fisheye support

Is there any more news about this issue? Will Kolor have to buy a patent?

To my knowledge only Stitcher has the capability to stitch fisheyes (starting from 3 photos). All the other panotools-derivates use the (hacked and illegal) pano12.dll.

Re: Fisheye support

Here is all the info from EPO Munich about the patents and documents from IPIX at the European Patent Office:
http://tinylink.com/?EpEM5DGtjs

...and fisheye support would be great, because I like Autopano very much. Only alternative right now: PTGui
