non-mosaic shots from Yellowstone...

I'm posting my mosaics in the gallery forum... but here are some of the single image wildlife shots from 2 1/2 days in Yellowstone National Park last week. Can you tell it is winter there wink ?

Waouh ! Wolves :-) Awesome.
Was it easy to do ? Some animals are just so difficult to shoot and these pictures just give the impression that it was easy to capture.

Re: non-mosaic shots from Yellowstone...

Sorry to say, but those are coyotes. I *wish* they were wolves. I did see wolves when I was there but they were literally a mile away and you could see them through a spotting scope, photos weren't really possible sad

The three black bumps in the right center are 3 of the 4 wolves of the "Druid Peak" pack. That's about as close as I got... and that was w/ a 500mm lens + 2x teleconverter * 1.5 digital factor, the equivalent of a 1,500mm focal length... and they still look that small.

Buffaloes are very surprising! (actually, I was convinced they totally disappeared and didn't know Yellowstone being such a wild place...)
