Experience with MX2

Hello All,

I would like to hear from people who have experience with controlling a Merlin head with the MX2. It looks to me like the MX2 does not have the flexibility that Papywizard offers, particularly regarding presets. Any information regarding this combination would be great!

Thanks,
Simon

Re: Experience with MX2

You are right, MX2 is specifically designed for Timelapse so it can controls the Merlin but for photography, not panorama, so if you focus on panorama go with Papywizard or the hand controler avalaible as option with Panogear wink

Re: Experience with MX2

Hi Vincen,

My focus is definitely for time lapse and I have a little experience using papywizard for just that purpose.

However, I found that using a software based control system was difficult in the field. So I am trying to find a hardware solution that fills all my requirements. if I can't find something then i will start a project to build my own.

I agree with the computer in the field ! So if you focus mainly on timelapse, go ahead with MX2 so it'll control eventually your rail or motorised system to move camera, and it'll be able also to control the Merlin (just buy or build the communication cable) and you are done smile
