Be aware that custom animated hotspot graphics will not be displayed in mobile-compatible versions of tours.

Just create a tour with standart animated arrows - find them in the tour directory - each is a png file (spot01.png, spot02.png...etc) in a form of a ten frames animation strip - replace the frames with your own and remember that each frame's width and height is 65 pixels.
I try to create new animate arrows and icons almost for every big tour I made - it is not that hard

You can also put your animation in the templates folder of PTP - in this case - each frame will be a separate file and you will be able to use these animations from the PTP UI.

Im not sure i can give websites here on the forum but if u do a google search you can fine alot of websites that sell a large verity of animated hotspots, loaders and such, but they are all flash so you wont be able to use them on a mobile tour.

You can use animated hotspots with html5 which will work with PC, Mac and iDevices... I will put up a demo soon... You can probably use animated gif's too.. Never tried but I would have thought it was doable.. ![]()

As I recall you will find that animated GIFs are supported in HTML/javascript (HTML5) versions of tours but not in Flash versions of tours.
Gund is correct in suggesting that it's best to adopt the method Kolor uses if you wish to have animated hotspots that will work in both Flash and HTML/javascript tours:
