APG 3.03 on Win7 64bit
I've shot a sphere with a 50mm equiv lens, 92 positions x 3 brackets (-2EV, 0EV, +2EV)
The stacks are processed in Photomatix to 92 output .hdr files
The VRdrive2 has produced a XML-file for the sphere, used for the import plugin.
This is case F from http://www.autopano.net/wiki-en/action/ … w_it_works
The detection is straightforward.
Rendering stops at Antighost (have waited for 20 hours), freeze, it is not possible to stop the rendering using the stop-button. APG process has to be killed.
I picked 16 images out of the sphere and tried it out. No XML import.
It is detected allright and it renders to .hdr slow but without problems.
I can tonemap the .hdr image in Photomatix.
Conclusion:
for some reason or another it is not possible to render this 92 image sphere from .hdr to .hdr on my system.
a subset of 16 images renders OK.
since the software is the autopanoGIGA this should be a piece of cake, and it must therefore be a bug.

Lefs, do you want me to try the rendering on a 64 GB system? Maybe me it can pull it off.... send me all the files in dropbox preferable.

btw:
the rendering stops at exactly the same spot everytime: at the "A" in Antighost
watching the Resource monitor there are no disk activity for 19 hours.

ok I will see it coming.
ADSL normally does round 7 GB upload in 24 hour to my experience so taking it to work will surely be faster :-)

will try it on one of my 8 core xeons, hope 64 GB will deal with it. Will just do the rendering based on the pano file. Starting time is NOW.

within the hour things are rendering. 8 Xeon cores at 100% and memory at 6GB used. Keep you posted

Hi Leifs,
That is not how you set it in the .pano-file........ no problem though, I can rerun it to your specs.
Please send me the .pano file with the rendering settings how you want them exactly. If you press apply instead of render they should be saved. then mail the file to hans@alsofjeerbent.nl
Or is it just a matter of changing selecting HDR instead of exposure fustion?

what Is unclear for me:
you mention to go for hdr to hdr workflow using case F.
but in your zip file only tiff source files are included but not .hdr files....
PS: started my test rendering the tiffs to hdr output on my win764bit on 16GB Ram at 16:10...
(used the .pano file to open nothing changed using the exposure fusion preset )

Hi Georg,
I did the same for the second run. Started a bit earlier then you.
Progressbar at 3/4 now using 59 GB and no harddisk I/o. CPU at 75 % and no change in memory used by APG, this is a scary time. Will it just hang like this or in the end finish the job. Don't feel like waiting 20 hours for this. Normal rendering finished in 39 minutes so HDR should not be 30 hours....or will it?
Running at 64 GB I think I have a better chance of finishing the job, but we will see ;-)

stopped the process and changed cache division to 4 MB. APG seemed to be hanging in Antighost, 75% cpu and no disk i/o or change in memory use.

after one hour I'm still in antighost step and CPU and also discaccess is variable used. in general 8 CPUs 15-30% in use and I can clearly hear access to my RAID1 where I places the tiff source files...
currently nealry 1/3 of the progressbar done...

Both of you would have finished for quite a time if you had used Photomatix before stitching . . .

I doubt it, the machine took 1,5 hours without me having to do anything. Not even having to select things in Photomatix

lol - I think you misunderstood the intention - or did I yours 
- you will say 1.5.hours in your test render you finished the job with APG?
instead of loading 275 images into apg, bracket them in stacks and then let apg do the work...
... in same time but with success...
it would be possible to create hdr images in photomatix and than load the single 92 hdr files into apg and render to a hdr pano.

PS: still at same place stuck in my test render 1/3 of progress bar around the "?" icon...
CPU is still active 20% in average per core.
in my case it would be more timeefficient to use the photomatix road... (now 3.5 hours for 1/3 in progressbar and no clue if it can be finished with apg)

Hi Georg,
Of course there are ways to do things faster, certainly when doing it on a machine with less memory an cores then my VM-machine.
I took the request of leifs in a simple way, just load the pano-file and render it.
This to test the virtual machine.
On my own local machine I would certainly have to do things differently, but that would cost also more manhours/minutes behind the computer.
Haven't seen the result itself yet visually. Not sure whether a 14.4 GB file will load at my 16 GB real workstation
