Re: Menu buttons with a difference to the norm!

I hope they will become extinct  in some time (I'm already planing to make an Iphone voodoo doll and  destroy it every day in every way possible). I think making such tours for mobile use is a little bit early. Too many standards - apple is more unified, but an Android is a disaster.
when html5 is a standart and PTP supports exporting in HTML5 - then I will probably  start considering them.
Meanwhile - check this out http://talyana.ru/gallery/panorama/
It is a virtual furniture store (the navigation is Russian only) I finally did it (even though some problems may arise in Firefox, but not in every Firefox)
When you click on the couch the couch menu is the following - 1st button converts the sofa into a bed 2nd button plays the animation in reverse. The arrows in between play the animation by frame. The "i" button shows the product in a web catalog.
Buying online with a credit card is not supported as people here still prefer to pay cash as soon as the product is delivered. Anyway I think that the paying system web-module is not the problem of a virtual tour designer. Let the hardcore coders do this part of the job.

Re: Menu buttons with a difference to the norm!

Hi... I guess I can put this under my "Buttons with a difference to the norm"...

I have wanted a Contact Form buttons for a while rather then viewers leaving the Virtual Tour to go to my Contact page on my web site, so I made up a new Contact Form just for a Pano..

But.. not sure if it will work on all browsers.. Our old PC with Windows XP using Firefox the button is missing.. Not sure why, it should be viewable top left....

Anyway.. If you see the contact button can you please send me a message and advise me which browser you are using.. I might be able to narrow down the issue..

Thank you..

Latest Firefox on Windows XP/32...

The Contact me button flashes up briefly while pano is loading on a white background before the grid appears when it disappears again.

Internet Explorer 8.x on Windows XP/32...

Not with Safari 5.17 on Windows XP/32.

It then behaves just the same as I have reported for Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Time to move on with this one.. its just not working.. Its opens in Opera but does not respond as it should...

Probably too late to ask for this feature in future ptp.. I think it would be a nice feature though..

Perhaps you are talking of behaviour with Safari on Mac OSX while I'm talking about behaviour with Safari on Windows XP/32?

You know that you can test the behavior of a content in different browsers by simulating them in Safari? Use the "developer" menu.

Ah, it seems that running Safari on a Mac with user agent set to Firefox-Windows  is not resulting in same behaviour as actually running Firefox on Windows.

Re: Menu buttons with a difference to the norm!

Yes Andrew.. I hardly ever rely on it.. Its best to get real-world feed back.. I just tested it on my Mac with Bootcamp Windows.. It works fine using Chrome but no IE... I have an iPad tester but thats the same thing. Its works in that but not on an iPad..

So it works fine on Safari, Opera and Chrome.. Its using jQuery Javascript but I have used it before without issues.. Its not webGL.. Not really sure what I have to add in the html code to make it compatible with IE and Firefox.. I think there is a way.. I sent myself a message using Chrome in Windows and when I got back into OX it the message came through.. It works really well and looks nice too..

If you have Chrome perhaps you can try that...

Re: Menu buttons with a difference to the norm!

Well.. It looks like its a ptp issue, it doesn't like my contact so I need to work out why.. It works in Windows Firefox as a stand-a-lone Contact so I assume it will also work in Windows IE, it also work with Safari Mac, Chrome in Windows and Opera Mac... but not Firefox or IE using Windows when placed in my pano... emmm... bummer...
