Personally I don't like watching a 360 video. I always have the idea something is happening behind me that I don't see. Having a cameraman making that decision for me is calming me down a lot. With 360 degrees panorama I know time has stopped so I can look around at my own time.

Now to combine the best of things we should have a big pause button, so that we can take our time and see what is (standing still) around us.

But I would really like to have this rig. Any specs on how many degrees vertically it can cover? I guess must be about 175 degrees, right.

I can see value in adult education for a 360 VR and for conference meeting recordings or even sports.  I feel their will only be two markets.. The high-end and the play thing for the hobbits.. I cannot see a market at the moment for the main or middle stream.. as I said when we were all discussing the GiroCAM which has had a face lift but the same mob are pushing it as the Geonaute, just the same old fake and yuckkie. This 360 Rig however, seems to have a lot more merit.. The angle of the cameras are set right to achieve a good FOV.. The GoPro gear also seems to be well made in the most part.. Unlike the GiroCAN as I called it, I would like to have a 360 Rig to test out.. I think there is merit in this technology but it  will seen just how it all pans out as the technology advances and where it can be used.. I can certainly see value in it for the right applications.. I just hope we do not get to see too many yukkie 360 videos on line pull it down.. I have seen a few very nice 360 videos so I know what they can look like... Its a real put-off to see a crappie one...

Regarding this application of video and a 360 degrees panorama I am not sure I find it a good one. The goal here is to learn englisch but the viewer is giving the opportunity to look in a different direction and not listening to the lesson anymore. As a former teacher I think it is best when students look at what they should be looking and listening at. ;-)

Pro: no heating problem. flexible with case or naked. easy access to cams
Cons: cant get info which gopro was used for the skiing demo video. this shows clear permanent stitching errors on the cables of the skilift. and skiing downhill you see the different auto WB values are visible in different toned snow. (Is the Gopro3 Black not advertised to allow manual WB settings?) So something is wrong in the rig cam positions or the cam or the stitching.

6 gopros + the rig + all softwareparts ? = ? worth the price. Dont know have doubts.

Yes - the Black does have manual WB settings. It is extremely confusing though based on the text of the manual (note the apparently contradictory bolded statements):

"White Balance adjusts the overall color tone of videos. White Balance will
only be available if Protune mode is turned on. The default White Balance
setting is Auto. When capturing in any White Balance setting other than
Auto, you may need to color correct your video with an editing program to
achieve your desired color. Only use a non-Auto White Balance setting if
you are an advanced user.
Pro Tip:
Consider manually setting WhiteBalance to the following settings
when operating in the following conditions:
Incandescent or sunrise/sunset lighting 3000K
Daylight or sunlit shooting 5500K
Cool white fluorescent skylight lighting 6500K

Industry standard optimized color Cam RAW
Cam RAW (Camera RAW)
The HERO3 camera can record Video in Protune mode in Cam RAW. GoPro
Cam RAW mode yields a minimally processed data file direct from the image

Hi Georg!

The skiing video was done with a Hero2 afaik. The cyclist and the pumkin also.

Of course issues can rise by stitching the hand which holds the pole the rig is fixed on. I guess we can´t expect error-free stitches of moving video . . at least not yet.
But it´s a question of time - and Kolor definitely is in the first row!
