[APG-3.0.2 @ Ubuntu-12.04.1 (64bit)] Can't get rid of my feet ....

Hi,

whatever I try to do using the mask tool, I can't get rid of my feet. Attached are two screen shots:

  • •  put a bunch of erase markers all over my feet

  • •  preview still shows toes

  • I certainly tried it with 1 to 5 delete marks first. The preview result looks always like the second screen shot.

With Hugin this is very easy: Just roughly click a polygon around and you are done roll

Don't know if this is a bug or me doing sth. wrong ....

    Seeya,

Guess I kind of solved it: Where the toes are there is no overlap with the above image, so there is nothing to blend. I will have to stamp it manually.

I leave this thread here as someone else might overlook this obvious reason where the mask tool seems not to work.

Admin might delete this anyway, no deal.

    you've to verify:

the image with your feet: do cover neighbor images the same area (and have no ghosts at this ares)?
the mask tool only can remove ghosts if the ghost area is covered by another neighbor image with no ghost at the same area. if this is so in your case: upload 3-5 resized images of this area to forum so we can have a try...

    other solutions possible:
erase in source images your feet (alpha mask/transparency). load the images as normal to detect pano. if empty areas remain postprocess them (panotour pro: krpano license for krpano tools to convert equis to cubes and use cubes to create equis from) on the cube faces.

How can Hugin remove the feet if there is no overlap?

I'd think it cannot. Seems like the usual case of "why does thing THING work in SoftwareA, but not in SoftwareB - and I'm trying the same THING, I'm telling you... ok, maybe a little different... alright, I'm doing a completely different THING, but still WHY OH WHY???" big_smile

Send me the originals and I get it done. If Hugin can do this, I can do it with Autopano, no worry.
