Can someone with a Nokia N810 describe the visibility of the screen outside in the daylight. I'm finding it very difficult to see PapyWizard on the screen of my HP laptop unless I'm under a tree on in the car. I'm considering switching to an N810 if it has better visibility.
Thanks

The N810 screen is known to be better than the N800 (which is hard to see in daylight). But I've never seen a N810...

You can hide an 800/810 better from bright light than a laptop.
(but optimal - sorry - is the T&C handheld: very bright, simple 1 bit display, very amall.)

So the answer is - Yes, it's highly visible! I bought one off ebay for $45 US. It has a reflective coating on the back of the screen so that when the sun is behind you it's quite visible. If you are in the sun and it is not shining on the screen, it has the same problem as the laptop. I'm now working my way through the steps in the Nokia 810 Wiki.

So long as you follow the instructions to the letter you should have no problems.
Let us know when you have Papywizard installed and running on yoyr N810.

I got the OS updated after figuring out which button to hold down (the one right under the webcam) and that it didn't like a USB 1.1 connection, only USB 2. Now I'm stuck because the Maemo site is unreachable this afternoon. I'll go do something else and try again later.

How far did you manage to get following the install instructions?:

This may shed some light on your problem accessing maemo.org :

It seems you may need to be patient. I hope this gets fixed sooner rather than later.

It got fixed while I was out and about. So I've finished all the steps to load python 2.5 and I'm loading PapyWizard.

Done, seems to work fine on the workbench. I'll try it out in the sunlight tomorrow.

The N810 is a great solution for bright sunlight. In fact, the best visibility is with the sun behind you shining directly on the screen of the N810. Visibility of the PapyWizard text and buttions is excellent and it's much easier using the stylus than the track pad and buttons on my laptop.
