Surprised it lasted so long!

Haven't bought anything from a camera shop in years - all been much cheapr on the net.

Jessops has had a online presence for a long long time, but it didn't save the business. There's no suggestion that they can close the shops and continue as a purely online retailer.

The analysts seem to be saying that the collapse was due to a downturn in camera sales because so many people have phones in their mobile phones these days and so don't (also) buy cameras.

Re: The UK's biggest camera retailer has gone bust

Often a shops online store is much cheaper than their shops... I would hate to think what prices they are charging in their shop going by what I have seen on their online shop.. I would never buy anything from them, even in their closing down sale.. Terrible prices.. I can get a Nikon 10.5 fisheye for $592 including delivery, same place I bought my 35mm and memory from.. so its a good source.. This Jessops mob are a rip off.. at $911 for a 10.5 fisheye, thats $319 more expensive than what I can but it for.. and they have bloody sale..!!! And even if you were stupid enough to buy from them.. where is the warranty.. You you would have to go to the manufactures..
