HTML5

Hello,

I just want to make sure that I understand this correctly.  If I have the appropriate licenese with KRPano, I can create a pano tour that will automatically switch between flash or html 5, correct?  My current tours will not play on the android jelly bean platform but when I test with the KRPano HTML5 demo, it works on my Nexus 7 tablet (android jelly bean platform). I  have standard tour and mobile device tour checked. What are the appropriate settings under tour build to play either flash or html5 tours under tour build?

Best,

Ben

Re: HTML5

if you have a licensed panotour 1.8 than you have an embedded krpano license too. You can export this license to use it with krpano package from krpano.com.
panotour 1.8 is based on krpano 1.0.8.14
currently most recent version of krpano - and interesting because of HTML5 features - is krpano version 1.0.8.15.

so tours created with panotour pro 1.8 cant be enhanced with code for krpano 1.0.8.15.
you can take the krpano license from panotour pro 1.8 and create a new tour with tools coming with krpano package (vtour maker/editor)

panotour 2.0 will be based on krpano 1.0.8.15 too (or even more recent...)

Re: HTML5

PTP 1.8 incorporates krpano 1.0.8.14. The latest version of krpano is 1.0.8.15.

The mobile-compatible output from PTP 1.8 is designed to work with iDevices.

The HTML file created by PTP 1.8 invokes a script that detects the browser user-agent and will then load the HTML/javascript version of the tour if it detects an iDevice browser user-agent, otherwise it will load the Flash version of the tour.

As I understand it viewing panos on Android platfroms using krpano Panorama Viewers is currently not as reliable nor consistent as when viewing with iDevices due to the variability and some limitations of current Android platforms.

Re: HTML5

Thanks for the information! So when will PTP 2.0 be releaseed or when will PTP 1.8 be updated to use the latest version of KRPano?  Incidently the KRPano HTML5 demo seems to run pretty good on the Nexus 7 (does not support flash and runs on Android Jelly Bean).

Best,

Ben

Only Kolor can tell you that - and I don't work for Kolor.

You have been fortunate then, which browser did you use?:

Re: HTML5

Hi Andrew,

I should have made my post a little more clear. The KR Pano latest version plays on the Android Jelly Bean platform, NOT the PTP version.

Re: HTML5

So is there a fast workaround to update the output of PTP with the krpano viewer 1.0.8.15 and also the detection of the browser user-agent to get current PTP tours running on a Nexus 7 ?

Re: HTML5

Hi... You could try to just replace the 1.0.8.14 player for the new 1.0.8.15 player... Even though elements of the player are built into the swf, but for things like wmode to support the opaque will help so not sure it it will make a difference with yours issue; it might be worth a try since its only a matter of replacing the current player.. The newer player will not effect anything on your tours..

I really think that jQuery will play a vital role with ptp in the future. Content like Widget using jQuery UI can be used which will be good for iDevices... Its works on everything with very few issues... At the moment I can get jQuery interactive 360 content and many other special effect with slide shows etc into a pano tour..

Re: HTML5

Holly crap Andrew!!.. It works.. I stuffed about with my interactive media for ages, and then I found out it would work in the new krpano with the 1.0.8.15 player..

It all works fine now with a pano created using ptp... Just amazing.. big_smile Thanks for that Andrew, I did not even know what it was for.. When I updatd it creates extra files, probably the missing files which I have just uploaded with the older files.. It takes just one second to update.. krpano is a very cleaver man... I really want to marry his brain wink

I haven't added the loader bar on this test so give it about 60secs to load.. After that it loads straight away.. With the new player, you can rotate the 3D model without it disappearing which was the issue with the older player.. One click on the model without moving it and it will dispapear, also by clicking on the hotspot.. I won't bother putting the loading on this test....

Re: HTML5

Hey.. I dropped the loader onto that test now just to make sure it all works, and it does wink .. There were other interactive media test I was creating that would not work so now I have to go back and see if I can get them working with the updated krpano features...

http://members.westnet.com.au/dps/3Dbul … ltour.html

It is also a lot easier to incorporate many of the krpano plugins now, some of which did not work with the 1.0.8.14 player.

Re: HTML5

Thanks a lot, I will play around with some older tours and the 1.0.8.15 player.

The Maxthon browser for example works perfect with the HTML5 examples on the krpano website.
A browser for Android Pad is also in the pipeline: http://www.maxthon.com

The Windows version didn't work correctly for me on Windows XP/32 with this krpano HTML5 example:
