best, Klaus
You are repeating yourself. Over and over.
vertical lines tool, vertical lines tool, vertical lines tool, vertical lines tool, vertical lines tool ...
Rehashing old posts, adding nothing.
Maybe you need a break, a vacation. Out of the city and the museums. A trip to a nice atoll in the Pacific would be nice, wouldn't it ?
You could bring along the Panoneed and the other gear. Don't forget the wires to anchor the pole to the ground, if you plan to use a pole.
Then you could shoot sunsets and some nice 360's. At home you can show us all the nice panos in the Panorama gallery.
I'm sure they will be gorgeous and with a straight and stepless horizon.

Yes - right! And i´m not the only one who repeats himself over and over . . . . ![]()

They definitely would - because i neither have nor ever had SUCH issues with steps in the horizon. Honestly ![]()

The threadstarter named the thread " "Steps" in the horizon".
I cannot in any way see how the vertical line tools can be used to reduce this problem. On the contrary, it adds new ones.
Here is why:
below there is three images with a perfectly lined up horizon.
I rotate the left and right image app 0.5 deg.
the result are shown for the overlapping zones and is as expected: "steps on the horizon".
Is this the way APG operates ? Yes, it has to be. APG know nothing about the horizon line, there is no horisontal line-tool except for planar projection.
There is no control-points, and if there were some APG would not know that there is a line. Everbody can see it, but not APG.
To help remedy this problem APG has to bend the horizon line, from a line to a curve.
This is not as easy as the horisontal line tool for planar projections, and for some reason Kolor has not made it a priority do address this.
Even after six years of users asking for it.
And I'm quite provoced by Klaus, who is touting his message to Kolor:
don't listen to them, I'm right , everybody else is wrong, don't make a tool for this problem because there is no such problem.
My message is: there is a problem, it has been pointed to for six years, it's time to address it.

leifs - that´s making me really angry now. You offend me without having the remotest understanding of what i wrote several times.
Ask yourself why Kolor hasn´t responded to your demands very much after "six years" now . .
Lachrymosity wouldn´t help you any further.

In this thread there is 129 posts, 47 which is yours. I have browsed through them all.
A typical post says (http://www.kolor.com/forum/p109820-2013 … 58#p109820)
<<But: THAT is done already by using the yellow dotted lines from the vertical lines tool! There´s absolutely no doubt about that.>>
No need for a tool to remedy the "steps in the horizon" problem. Because there already is a tool, the vertical line tool. Absolutely no doubt about that.

You simply don´t seem to understand.
Not of my interest anymore.

You have not even once admitted there is a "step in the horizon" problem.
I tried to explain why the vertical line tools only adds to the problem.
Your answere is "Not of my interest anymore." That's fine with me.

It´s obvious you have a "step in the horizon problem". THAT´S not the point.

I'm not the only one posting about the "step in the horizon". I've found ways to remedy it in one way or another, because APG don't.
<<THAT´S not the point.>> what is the point then ???

I have learned a lot since this post on this thread: http://www.kolor.com/forum/p97960-2012- … -32#p97960
- most important I have made a "handmade" shooting pattern for the sphere, the horizon is in one row only
- CP's in the sky has to be deleted, if it's windy conditions
Still there is something that has not changed:
there is no tool to help the APG user to make a straight and stepless horizon (Klaus: I know you don't need it)
to remedy the need I've improved my skills in Photoshop. it should not be neccesary to be a PS champion to finish an APG pano
this is a result of two steps removed using PS: http://www.rundskuer.no/panotour/trelbo … ltour.html
