Can I extract cubes from the final virtual tour set of files?

Reason being I can't access the hard drive which contains the original images.

I had already published a tour with these images onto my web server, so I have the virtual tours files.

I looked that the files and see the many small tiles.

I also see the preview.jpg images, which are the cubes but small and combined.

Is there a way to extract cubes from the rendered virtual tour files somehow?

Thanks!

no to cube extracting...
yes there is a way - but you will not like this method...

go in one Subdirectory containing the smallest tiles. grab them...
in gimp, PS etc open an empty Image and load all tiles from above and than happy puzzling...

this Image now can be split to cubes using the krpano Tools.
or load the pano into panotour pro and Export your tiles...

Hi.. Not really.. you can only hope to extract the slices.. but you would need to know the exact folder url address and names.. You can then build a dummy tour and replace the extracted images.. It would take forever to do.....

he says he has published the tour and he does see the files... so he can Access them (ftp, webcrawler, winhttrack Website copier...)
he has no Access to the original jpg/raw Images to recreate a new tour...

Hey!

Forget it - you can´t re-construct it in an appropriate time. Would take you weeks - IF it would work at all.

best, Klaus

If you want something you´ve never had,
then you´ve got to do something you´ve never done.

better to reshoot the tour if possible
BTW I have a crazy idea- if you load these small tiles from the subdirectory - will autopano be able to stitch them together)??

No, I don't think so because there will be no overlap.

There surely has to be some kind of mosaicing software that can do this?

Re: Can I extract cubes from the final virtual tour set of files?

I went back into the build files and found the cubes there! I will post a more detailed description a little later, but basically in each build sub folder there is an 0_0 file that is the cube!  So I found them and re created the sphere as I wished to!

The sphere put back together was aprox 2000 px X 1000 px.  My original one was 8000 X 4000.

This is OK for me though as my need now is a mobile use, plus the large 360º already exists on my server.

Will post more a little later.  But the cubes are there!

Re: Can I extract cubes from the final virtual tour set of files?

Yes, that's right but have you checked on the physical size of those cube faces.. You will probably find that they are only about 800px X 800px.. Useless for a pano.. Unless you do not need any zoom value at all.. Then they will be fine..
