Destiny - I noticed long ago that JS do not work on fullscreen - I always though that when you go fullscreen it goes to pure .swf and everything written in html containing this .swf is gone.
I've got the same problem in my couch store.

Yes Gund, you are probably right. It's the same issue with a Shadowbox... With this JS image viewer, I made it so you can expand full view the images and pan them over the pano. One click and they will close.. Probably the best I can hope for..
Catch you next year. One hour to go.. ![]()

Hi.. Just wondered if this one actually worked.. Did you pan your mouse over the image?? http://members.westnet.com.au/dps/artga … yzoom.html
I changed the filers with one grey, red and blue.. I should really put a rectangular hotspot over the images, better than the hotspot.. I really wanted this one to open outside of a shadowbox but its tricky, it would look better so I will work on it.. Not sure if it will work on an iDevice.. I think it will.. I really need to "have one donated to me"...

I wonder how did you do this flash with the rectangle that shows an enlarged pottion of a photo - is it some special software that does it automatically? (probably it is not even flash)

С Новым Годом! back at you..
and all the best for 2013... ![]()
No Flash, its all javascript.. I need to buy an iPad to view and test my interactive media on.. I have an iPod which works but not big-enough.. I need to work out how to get it to call without dropping it into a Shadowbox... I am sure it can be done since its working fine with the other one... but this version is made up of more code structure..
I am just sooooo looking forward to seeing ptp V2.. It is going to have some really cool stuff in it.. Some of my interactive content will not work in the current version of ptp since it uses the older version of the krpano player.. There is no fix or work-around either.. I just have to wait.. I can still do it using the krpano process so not an issue.. I know it works... I am trying to steer away from using Flash.. Javascript is the way forward I feel... but you are more of a trained programer than me.. I just teach myself and try to see if it will work.. A lot of trail and error... more error than trial.. ![]()

Just to make sure you don't get too disappointed (about HTML5 and iDevices):
Afaik PTP 2 will be based on krpano 1.0.8.15, and there are a lot missing in the HTML5 implementation compared to what we now are used to expect. Here is what's missing (from http://www.krpano.com/docu/html5/)
<<Unsupported functionality:
Multiresolution - currently not possible but already in work. New browsers and new devices are making this finally possible.
The direct usage of spherical or cylindrical images - with CSS 3D transforms it is not possible toe use such images. With WebGL they would be possible but when aiming cross-browser / cross-device support, then their usage doesn't make sense. The krpano tools should be used to convert them to cubical. And there are tool-based plans to support partial panos better without wasting image space.
Flat pano images - currently not possible but already in work.
Fisheye / Stereographic / Pannini projections - with CSS 3D transforms not possible, but maybe in future in WebGL enabled browsers.
Mouse over / out events - currently not supported, but planed for desktop.
Keyboard controls - currently not supported but manually already possible via xml events and actions.
Polygonal hotspots - the desktop browsers would be theoretically fast enough for drawing polygonal hotspots, but on iPhone, iPad and Android they are currently still too slow for that, so there they are currently not supported.
Lensflares - currently not supported (no 'blendmode=add' in HTML5 yet).>>
No multiresolution !
That means use of lenses other than fisheye is wasted. The load-time for the cube-faces will be unacceptable for spheres shot with e.g. 24mm eq.
Cylinders yes, faking sphere
Flat pano no.
This is not krpano glitches, it's the HTML5 that's immature.
Some day everything will be there, maybe krpano 1.0.8.16 ? And then there will be PTP 2.1
Or a miracle: PTP 2.0 will be based on the yet unreleased krpano 1.0.8.16, where this missings are implemented ![]()

Sorry - that´s not quite correct. See it here: http://360impressions.de/MKP_TOUR/ made with 35mm.
Deep zoom (multires) dosn´t work. Right. Tiled flat images also don´t work. Right.
That doesn´t mean the use of other lenses than fisheyes would be "wasted" . . ![]()
Besides of these two points the tour runs without issues on desktops (with multires and flat images) and on iDevices (without multires and flat images) as well.
A workaround could be this way: http://www.360impressions.de/Grisebach/ which works on desktops as well as on iDevices.
Regarding that the main use for interactive panos still is on desktops it´s not of a big problem when one or two features have to be missed on iDevices.
Having a tour run on desktop and iDevices with the basic funcionality is widely accepted - clients can live with that very well when you get good work.
Sprinkling-sprankling glimmering is what´s really wasted in terms of taste and style. "Less is more" - L. Mies von der Rohe´s renewed wisdom from R. Browning´s hits it precisely . . ![]()
But taste and style are things not everybody really values high . . ![]()
We sometimes generate extra-versions aimed for the use on iDevices - with tablet-optimized content and navigation. That´s a way of consequence.
best to you and a happy new year, Klaus

Hi... Well I do not have any high expectations on HTML5, I am not even sure why it is an issue since its really only html with javascript working within in it.. However, XHTML was always an issue with browsers, and browser updates thats why not many people used it.. That was really HTLM4.. Same thing..
iDevices are here to stay.. I hate the fact that the Apple iDevice has dominated the scene but I am sure things will change as technology changes.. Its a fact that many people now brows for internet shopping on their way to work, or where-ever and many use an iDevices of shorts.. Does anyone know if the MicroSoft iDevice support flash... I am making sure that what I create is compatible for all browsers and iDevices as much as I am able too. This is why I am focussing on javascript since to me its only media that works on everything, but interactive 3D is an issue.
You are right, HTML5 is still developing.. So is webGL, even more so.. I do know that ptp will have interactive 3D but how it works I do not know.. The best option I have found with 3D is flash, but thats on its way out.. I am hoping Kolor find a way of using 3D with javascript and obj files but so far javascript will not supported the render maps very well.. I have tested out webGL with interactive 3D and I have posted my tests on this forum, but the issue is.. Its very very slow to load and is not supported by IE...
We are going through a transition period with software. Its probably causing software developers a real headache. But in time it will settle.. I have a feeling that krpano 1.0.8.16 is very close to being developed.. One thing is for certain, krpano 1.0.8.14 does not support many of the interactive media I create. However, krpano 1.0.8.15 does.. I think that Klaus-krpano is a bloody genius.. Without him, where would ptp be.. Its his player that make it all possible.
I will keep my name down for the first copy of ptp V2. I am sure its going to be amazing..

so what are the size of the cube-faces in this tour ? for the iDevices that is.
(the link http://360impressions.de/MKP_TOUR/ will lead desktop users to the flash-version. and it is fine, ofcourse)

Yes - that´s how it should be. Open it on an iPad/Phone it also works. ![]()
best, Klaus
P.S.: tablet-face is 1024x1024. For the Retina we´ll switch to 1400x1400.

I agree very much. Without krpano there would be no PTP as we know it !
I started out using krpano, and has later found PTP to be a fine frontend. PTP has not exposed the full depth of krpano, so there is a lot extras for those who like coding ![]()
However clever Klaus may be he cannot speed ahead of the browser-makers and the HTML5 comities. Therefore it will be a transitional period until everything we now are used to in PTP-flash is in place for HTML5

PTP is a tool to quickly build virtual tours without having to dive into all kind of coding.
By definition I would think a virtual tour has at least two panoramas in it, but most of the time it is more like 5 or 10. Though theoretically these panoramas can be gigapanoramas most tours contain panoramas (much) smaller then even one gigapixel panoramas.
To me it is more important that PTP2.0 enables me to run these panoramas well on > 90 % of all devices that are being used by visiters of my clients website. Whether or not they get to see every last detail that is in a panorama is, frankly, of a less high priority.

To illustrate the "problem per now" I've taken a sphere shot with a 24mm eq lens, made cubefaces of it and imported into PTP.
Then I made a "tour" with the "Mobile devices Tour" checked.
PTP then makes two scaled-down cubes and put them into the build-directory, named tablet_face.jpg and mobile_face.jpg
Below the size of the full cube-face, tablet_face and mobile_face are shown.
PTP 2.0 will probably be based upon krpano 1.0.8.15 , which has no multiresolution for HTML5.
The question will then be: how large cubefaces can you present on the internet and expect the viewer to wait for it to download ?
The full cube-face from the 24mm eq shoot is 20MB in JPG (max quality). That is 120MB for all six. Nobody will wait for that.
