Menu buttons with a difference to the norm!

Hi.. I realise that ptp V2 will have, or it's reported as having, a menu creation utility of kinds.. but I am guessing it will still be restrictive.. I am now getting into creating menu sets with a difference to the normal kind. If anyone would like this set just ask for them... I will also include the xml code.. wink cool

Re: Menu buttons with a difference to the norm!

Hi..

I will continue to post menu options.. This one is more modern and subtle.. Quite nice...

http://members.westnet.com.au/dps/menub … wSet2.html

I will have to change the Help menu to represent the menu buttons..

Re: Menu buttons with a difference to the norm!

Destiny,
great job as always kudos smile

I had an idea for a menu, but unfortunately my coding skills are not where they need to be smile
in short the idea is to have a small 3D sphere on the left or right corners that can be rotated (imagine the trackball that blackberry phones used to have)
and next to it the rest of the buttons such as zoom, full-screen and the rest of the stuff - well its funny but kind of like the game sims used to have but more modern

Good afternoon Destiny! Did a menu that worked really well! and that I'm showing this so that he would stay with the original color as I did in the picture! is to disable the color variation for him to perform with these colors???

Yes, I will come up with a bottom left corner theme and a left side theme too.. Not sure about a track ball though.. but I can make something similar..

I have now put my own Help menu on this set.. http://members.westnet.com.au/dps/menub … wSet2.html

Re: Menu buttons with a difference to the norm!

Destiny, the Christmas theme is awesome and the Black and Gold really look legit as well. I have a question on the how you made the background of the virtual tour (the grid). Reason I ask is I have an idea to make concept virtual tours for architects and building developers, so in other words they give me their graphic word or sketches and I make it into a virtual tour. Any suggestions on how to do that or would it even be possible would be highly appreciated!
smile
Thanks a million!

Re: Menu buttons with a difference to the norm!

Hi Octavias.. Thank you for your kind comments.... The Christmas theme was just for fun but with a serious technical element..

My grid is just that, all you need to do is create a grid pattern, copy it six times naming the faces grid01 ,grid02 ,grid03 etc and then import them as cub faces into ptp.. I just made it for my testing ground since its the medium that is being testing and not the pano. I am sure there is a gaming value in VR Tours.. But not with the current version. I realise what you are suggesting, I have had the same thoughts.. There is a hand drawn pano here at this forum somewhere... Not sure where now.. You can capture a city VR and then trace the edges to get a line drawing of a city using Photoshop. You can then use a tablet to hand draw the lines on a new layer... You can add features easily too... I had a thought that I wanted to create a grid, as in 3D face of buildings a features, which you can do from a 2D drawing using Photoshop.. You just need a few grid patterns and then attache the faces to the faces of the buildings.. Lot of work though.. It would be easier to buy a 3D model of a city and add a grid render.. There are many 3D cities already been made.. http://www.daz3d.com/shop/the-streets-o … nhouse-row I also thought that I could merge in real colour and features into the grid pano to ad interest... The merging of different medium and technologies is fun to do... You just have to be a bit open minded which you seem to be... wink

Hi.. I updated the Black/Gold with some nice icons..  Easy but time consuming since there is a lot to consider..
I can't wait to see the menu icon utility I am assuming ptp V2 will have..

Destiny! thanks so much for the advice! I am going to research it a bit more and draw my own grid to practice. Also, the last theme you uploaded looks AMAZING! its so clean and simple. Is there a chance you could share the code/images with us smile

Thanks in advance!

Re: Menu buttons with a difference to the norm!

Hi..

Sure... But I will need the email address you registered your Kolor Pano Tour Pro with... I will keep a record on who has my graphics..

You can email me using my new email icon I added.. wink... Its yours to use with your own projects.. But you must not share it.. I will do that...

BTW.. I just checked out your web site.. I see your Virtual Tour Shop.. I was my dream to create a Virtual Tour Interactive Shop with 3D and 2D products.. Wonder around the shop and click on selected products to view them and then go to the PayPal link to pay for it.. A true interactive Virtual Shop.. This is my demo test interactive Antique Shop. I need to do the pano again since it was way too bright at top and very dark below. My D90 was not the best but my D800 with 7 bkt shots will do a much better job.. wink

http://www.destinyvirtualtours.com/Face … entre.html

With the Kolor PTP, you really need to think outside the box to visualise what might be possible.. wink

Hi.. More menu experimenting.. Very involved this time... High, Flush and Embossed to test the effect.. I guess the only real way to see what is possible is to think it, design it and then attempt it.. There are 7 different over states here.. cool

I like the line menu bar like the one above. My designer has recently sent me a picture of a similar line menu - I spent like 4 hours cutting and aligning  it - but it looks really cool.
