Which version of Motor Controller is in ALLview?

Hi
can somebody check Motor Controller version in Allview mount (NOT "small" merlin + allview firmware)?
It can be checked by:
1 MC Firmware Loader http://www.skywatcher.com/swtinc/custom … class2=115 or
2 just use Hand Controller:
- Astronomical - ENTER 10 times to ...
- ... Begin alignment? - 2) NO
- use down button to "Utility Func." - ENTER
- use down button to "Show Information" - ENTER
- use down button to "Version" - ENTER
- use down buttot to show "Motor Controller VER xx.xx.xx

Re: Which version of Motor Controller is in ALLview?

Mine says H. C. Firmware Ver.03.09 which is really the hand controller. The initial screen says Ver.03.09.24 I don't see any options for finding the "Motor Controller" version.

This is not the HC version it shipped with, this is the latest version from Celestron and now also posted on the SkyWatcher site.

Note that the Allview mount documentation doesn't say anything about using the controller pointed to by your link, it uses http://www.skywatcher.com/swtinc/custom … class2=110

Hi
I think You missed last point. When select: Version -> ENTER -> will see H. C. Firmware Ver.03.09 and next -> use down button 3 times

This is for Hand Controller firmware http://www.skywatcher.com/swtinc/custom … class2=110
My link - to Motor Controller firmware http://www.skywatcher.com/swtinc/custom … class2=115

Hi Mateusz,

Are you sure that the motor control firmware loader link you provided is correct for the AllView product?  Have you tried and tested it on your AllView?   I'm concerned that it may be incorrect motor control firmware and if so it might turn someone's AllView into a "brick" !.  The firmware loader you quoted mentions that it is for Skywatcher's SynScan telescope mount products, which you can see here, there is no mention about the firmware being suitable for the AllView.
http://www.skywatcher.com/swtinc/produc … class2=304

The only firmware update I am aware of is for the AllView hand controller (below), I have not seen anything published for updating the firmware of the motor control board on the AllView product.

Regards,
Rob

Re: Which version of Motor Controller is in ALLview?

Rob - I think You can use Motor Controller Firmware Loader to connect wih Allview, but I'm NOT sure You can use motor firmware from 'small- merlin to Allview mount.
I use 'small' merlin/panogear with Hand Controller Allview firmware - http://www.skywatcher.com/swtinc/custom … class2=110 as described here http://www.kolor.com/forum/viewtopic.ph … 35&p=2

Are You able to check Motor Controller firmware by Hand Controller?

Re: Which version of Motor Controller is in ALLview?

No, I didn't miss your point. I followed your instructions precisely and got what I described on the AllView hand controller. If you used some other hardware/software conbination to get the H.C. info then it doesn't apply to the AllView. If you think you are going to put the AllView software on a different hand controller, good luck, that's not something I would want to try.
