I am having some issues with using autopan in an "Automatic" work flow.
Frist issue is with the group detection. For this case, I ALWAYS shoot 12 images for a pano ( 3 shots bracketed at each compass point)
When I brows to find my folder I set the "average number of images" to 12, but I almost always have to go in and manualy fix this detection as it gets it wrong.. Is there not a way to say "Its ALWAYS 12 shots" instead of the vage "Average" that messes up so offten. I get the logic of the system and it wourks great when I do vacation shots, shooting one Pano at the beach and then anouther one 10-20 min later at some other point. But for this work (Google Business Photos) I am shooting 30 nodes/panos in 45 min. It just does not work well.
Question 1: Is there a way to force it to use 12 images for a pano instead of its fancy detection?
Next big issue I have is when I have all the panos with good previews and I am ready to render I select the "Render All" button and up comes the dialog. I make my settings I like and hit ok.. and have to repeate that 30 times!! What? I want to use the same setting on all of these panos. same size, same quality, same nameing structure etc.. But I have to do it manualy for every pano.. Not very Auto..
Dont get me wrong, the app is great, and results are amazing, but I need a solution that is "Auto" my work flow is very consistant, I need a solution where I can jsut select my folder of 180 source images (thats 15 panos each with 12 shots) hit the go button and then come back with nice set of 15 finiched stiched images named "Company-Pano-XXXX.jpg"
Question 2: Is there a way to set options for all panos at once when chossing "Render All"?
Question 3: Is there a way to compleatly automate the above- Select folder and hit "go", with no other interaction needed?
I am assuming I must be missing something in what I am doing as I cant imagine it is this hard!
Please and thank you for any help you can provide!!!!
Cheers.

OK Some progress on my own..
1) Force groups to every 12 images - No sollution yet...
2) I found that I can set the default prefs, and then say to auto render.. Works, but woudl be nice if app prefs could be saved as different setting to be applied for different work flows.. Instead of just one "Application Settings" .
3) Compleatly automate - I found that this can do this using the "auto render, auto save etc" in app prefs as above, but I still need to maualy fix the grouping for my 12 images as per question one. If that can be automated as well, I think this will be what I am lookng for.

The word "auto" in AutoPano doesn´t necessarily mean everything is done automatically.
Regarding the enormous complexity of stitching there is damn much "auto" involved in the app . . . ![]()
Try PanoTools and compare the workflow . . . ![]()
best, Klaus
P.S.: i suggest to use a robotic head providing xml files for positioning and to always use the same lens.
After some "tailoring" the system to your needs it will work as automatically as far as possible.

Hey guys apretiate your useful comments and sugestions.
As I mentioned in this case I have a consistant work flow.
I use the same lens and camera settings,
I am takeing 3 bracketed exposures in each direction.
I rotate the camerea exactyl 90º usng a nodal ninja R10
I added in my secnd post, I was able to find ways to automat most of the tings I had asked for . The only issue I still have is that I can not just simply tell Autopan to use 12 images every time. Seems to me a simple request.
PTGui Pro DOES let me set the number of images to 12 when I use the batch builder. But In some cases, I like the image quality resulting in the final images from Autopan, especialy when dealing with image sets of varing exposure (Google for some crazy reason wants us to shoot apature priority and not manual as I normaly would - Auto pan deals with this sort of blending much better than PTGui).
The work flow for PTGUI ones a template was set up is simply a matter of selecting my source folder with Batch Builder and hitting go.. very "Auto" it jsut does a poor job on ocation in blending for crappy exposure differences.
If any one has any suggestions on how I can jsut get Autopan to always use 12 images for its batch detection and not the time data from exif I woudl greatly apretiate the help.
Thanks.

If you are rotating the same amount, perhaps you could use the pano template feature in autopano?
I find the division of the groups is more about the time parameter than the number parameter. Can you just make sure you always wait at least 30 seconds between panoramas, then set the # to 20 and seconds to 30?
