videos in panos

Hi everyone,

I recently purchased panotour pro ...One of the reasons I wanted to have the programm was its ability to insert videos in a pano...I've made this try:
http://www.burakercumen.com/images/sana … bleks.html
While inserting the video in the rectangular hotspot where the TV is I discovered that the downloading times are becoming a problem...I can understand this; a video contains a lot of information and the file size is huge compared to  for example a .jpeg file...My first try was with a video of 70 MB (about 20 sec. long) in Full HD format...I saw that it takes ages to download the video...The pano opens but the video arrives much later...I have a Canon 5D mark2 and  can shoot also videos in lower resolution (640x480) so I made this video of a flower which lasts 5 seconds and has  a file size of 6,56 MB...

1.)Is there a way of putting longer videos (when the viewer looks carefully he can see that the video replays again and again) without having a huge file size?...For example programs that would downsize the resolution and the file size (preferebly not very expensive ones)?...My camera outputs videos in .mov format...

2.)If the TV would cover less place in the pano, would that help decreasing the downloading times? I mean if the pano was shot from a place where the Tv is seen very small...Would that help?

I have zero knowledge of handcoding...Any advice/answer will be highly appreciated...

Re: videos in panos

Hi..

Sorry to tell you that 70meg as a single vid will not work that well at all.. The only way to get that kind of vid into a pano would be to stream it.. But, you cannot put that onto a TV monitor rectangular polygon.. There are issue with large vid files, especially HD.. The easiest way to do this would be to allow the link to open a new window and use a streaming player.. You would get away with about 10meg using a TV rectangle polygon but not 70.....

Re: videos in panos

Even 640x480 is big for a rectangle video. Unreasonably big if it is a from-camera .mov. 320 p videos look quite good if you put it on a TV in a room. Even if the TV is as big the one in the link above.  640x480 (or 480 p ) is ok if you change it from .mov to .flv. I always prefer .flv format as it is well used all over the internet and the size is relatively small.
You may download something like "Total video converter" and resize the video to .flv, normal quality, 320 or 480 p (also decreasing sound quality a bit may help to reduce the size) I think it is cheap now - I'am using a very old version of TVC it still works fine.Even if it was possible to put 70mb rectangle video in a pano - the download time would be enormous.
