I have worked with the GigaPan import quite a bit, and it can take a bit of tinkering, but I usually get good results. I've run accross a new kind of problem though, and was hoping someone could help. I'm importing 2,646 images (14x63x3). After selecting these files I have a preview that seems to be correct, except for the starting point. The top 3 rows are appearing at the bottom, and the last 15 or so columns are on the left. The picture numbers rolled over during this pano, and the sorting seems to have set them by file name rather than timestamp. I don't want to "ignore" this many pictures (and I can only ignore 99 anyway). It would be really great if I coud "Shift" by n pictures (rather than "ignore" them, just move the starting photo). If you add a enhancement request for this, please make sure that the "Shift" works in increments of the bracketing. In the mean time, is there any way to manipulate the photos during the import.... control point detection seems to be much better when it has this grid layout assistance.

Rename all your images, so that the filenames are ascending numbers from 0001 to 2646, like the pano is orientated.

Hi, To rename Images by timestamp, i usually use Exif sorter

Really, that's the answer, rename 2,646 files, guess I could write it in perl, but that's still a bit complicated since the images are in Aperture and as such I don't have real access to the folder where they are stored so they would have to be either exported and renamed, or renamed one-by-one.

Ok, so I've renamed the images, and the import show'd a preview that looked correct, but after control point detection I have the mess shown below. This import usually works well, and I've done imports of 2,100 images in the past, but this one is giving me real fits. Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

having the past gigapan import plugin issues in mind, most solved and min one still unsoved...
... first question is which apg version did you use?
all listed issues are solved with 3.0 beta 2 version, all but one about the combinations of using dehaze images & gigapan import:

For renaming files there are several freeware tools. I have to do this too sometimes, when I'm not shooting in correct order.
It's not a big thing.
But if you have not access to the files directly, this can give you a lot of trouble while dealing with gigapanos.
When I'm looking your result of detection, I can see it's defined as spherical 360x180 degree. This is wrong and give you this mess.
Use the correct settings and everything will going well.

You don´t need to use "control point detection" at all when you use the import (that´s why the import of fixed positions exists). But you need to fine-tune the imported positions.
And here some difficulties exist in handlich it.

Though it´s writen for a PapyWizard-case it´s the same basics as in your case.

P.S.: as i wrote before: skip automatic optimization in the import module. Do the optimization manually after the import is done.
