I am using AutopanoGiga 64 bit v2.6.4 on a Windows 7 64bit machine with 8GB of RAM.
I am experiencing a lot of crashes of Autopano when rendering an HDR image (in the warping phase).
My General settings are:
Memory Used: 3.69 GB (100% of free memory)
Cache division: Auto
Multi Core: 8 (Core i7-3770 CPU @♣ 3.40Ghz)
GPU Processing: Enable
Workflow is to detect a panorma from braketed images and render it as HDR 32bit image:
I have tested with small panorama and all is ok, but using larger set of images APG crashes generating an error: 0x0000005 Access violation reading location ...
I read the other posts in the forum about this tye of error suggesting to disable antivirus and GPU processing, I have done both without any result (antivirus is Norton, GPU is nVidia GeForce GTX 460 with the most recent driver).
I have done some testing using the same pano project and changing "Memory Used" and "Output Size "parameters.
The project is composed of 210 images (Tiff 16bit, 3008x200pix) in stack of 5 bracketed images, output size of the pano 15568x7784 pix (121 Mpix)
I have noticed that crashes are sure if I try to stitch a 100% resolution output HDR, and become less frequent if I reduce the output size to 50% or less (but sometimes still happen).
I have tested reducing the amount of memory used to about 2.5GB without any significant positive result.
If I stitch the same pano avoiding braketed inputs and producing a 100% resolution PSD 16bit image, all is OK.
Please help.

Hello Marco,
Could you please check available disk space for both rendering and temporary folders, to see if Autopano is running out of space or not?
By the way, it would be interseting for us to know if the crash also occurs on Autopano V3.0 beta 2.
Thanks,
Thomas

Hi Thomas,
My cache disk for temp folder of autopano is an SSD with more than 40GB of free space.
The main disk with program and data folder has more then 700GB of free space (it is an HDD with SSD caching)
Yes, also V3.0 Beta2 has the same problem.

Thomas,
I have to correct myself about APG V3.0 Beta2 as follows:
- using a .pano project produced with APG V2.6.4 for rendering in V3 Beta2 the problem exists
- building from scratch the .pano project in V3 Beta2 the rendering is done without problems.
I hope this is usefull, I will start to use 3.0 from now.

Thanks for those details.

Hello Marco,
Is it possible for you to upload the 2 .pano files on our ftp server (http://www.kolor.com/forum/t766-ftp-server) ?
Thanks,
Thomas
